Stopped in here to get some pastries to go for breakfast. They have good flaky croissants. Nice ambiance, and they have gluten free options (heard someone asking when the gluten free bread would be coming out of the oven).

Arrived on ferry from Seattle. Walking around early morning and looking for coffee and pastries. Found this store and tried it out. Was pleasantly pleased with the coffee and pastries.

It's a real pleasure to stroll any avenues without the presence of the spoils of landlubbers. It's just 35 minutes away by ferry and there's not one Starbucks in sight in "busy" Winslow Way. Then it's a haven for independent roasters. Dropped by Bainbridge Bakers for our java fix and an apple custard pastry. Surprisingly, my house brew coffee is... More

This is known as the Bainbridge Bakers and also the Forge Cafe They feature pastries and they are good However we also tried sandwiches for lunch. Large, good fresh breads and your choice of condiments and fresh lettuce, tomatoes, etc No complaints about the quality of either Prices are reasonable Pleasant seating inside and outside

Good location - sat out on the terrace on a glorious day. Coffees were excellent and the 'build your own' sandwich even better.

Do yourself a favor and ask "what's the best dessert". Then buy it. While there is another bakery option nearby, this one is tucked away, less chaotic and super friendly. Highly recommended.

The new owners are really trying , and the food selection has widened and sandwiches are good. My big gripe is that sandwiches are the only items that have a listed price! There are no drink prices listed anywhere. In fact, there is not even a list of drinks and sizes offered. Even a piece of paper listing coffees and... More

So friendly! We bought at a delicious savory pesto and roasted tomato roll and got something on the house too! They gave us recommendations of what to do and see while in town! I highly recommend going to this cute place!!

We went in to get a pie to bring home for dessert. We chose the cherry which was very attractive with hearts of crust on the top. It was $27 which seemed really outrageous but we were excited to try it as the reviews here seemed so good. It was made with canned pie filling or worse. Crust on the... More

We were walking around after taking the ferry. We went in because I thought they might have some nice pastries. We ended up splitting a bowl of clam chowder and a sandwich. The clam chowder was pretty good though not hot when we got it. The sandwich needed a little something. For almost $10, it should have been nicer. Altogether... More
