Went to Palace Café for Sunday brunch with my daughter. We were told the wait would be 20 minutes - lots of people for brunch. Would have been nice to find more places to sit while waiting - as a person on the advanced end of 'senior citizen', standing to wait is a challenge. However, our table was ready in... More

Well I hadn't been here for breakfast in over a year due to sub par food. Decided to take my daughter for breakfast the other day. She had blueberry pancakes, after the first bite she told me they were disgusting. I tried them and I agreed worst pancakes I've ever had. I had the ultimate omelette, it was just ok.... More

I had a sizeable per diem on my business trip and wanted to splurge on dinner but didn't want to settle for anything less than a decent restaurant. I didn't want to go to a chain and definitely not a café type place. Surprisingly this was neither. The Palace Café has been around for over 100 yrs. and is family... More

The problem is that it's way over priced. Most of us locals don't eat there. Skimpy of the fries, small portions in general.

The service was slow, but friendly when and if they came by. The food was inconsistent. My seafood salad was great, but my son's medium rare flat iron steak was like shoe leather.

Another tradition...when in Ellensburg you must go to the Palace for breakfast. Traditional biscuits and gravy, and hash browns (then go take a nap). The meat lovers omelette is also delicious! Best if you get there early (8 or 8:30) if you have a large party. They don't take reservations. They do separate checks so that's a plus (and she... More

We had received a coupon for a free dessert from the hotel where we were staying, so decided to try the cafe. We were not disappointed. The food and service were excellent. My cod fish was moist and yummy. A large salad was substituted for the fries at no cost. The Asian coleslaw was delicious! The cheesecake dessert was rich... More

I went in to pick up two breakfasts to go.....staff was ok, wait seemed long, and the food came to me packaged to go, so I didn't look at it, but the order was wrong.

The palace is a pretty good size place in downtown, lots of tables and booths in multiple rooms. Energetic young staff, friendly and attentive. It turned out our waitress was a trainee, and was clearly ready to graduate to a regular. Had the screaming jack's burger, perfectly cooked, with hot and crunchy curly fries. I was craving a serious real... More
