This family-run restaurant the a hidden gem in the Totem Lake West strip mall. Less showy and crowded, compared to the more-expensive Japanese restaurant nearby, Thumra Thai serves very tasty Thai food with a quiet elegance. Watch out, though, if the father is cooking: he likes to throw in extra spiciness 'just because'. Reduce your star count by one when... More

The flavor of both of our meals was pretty mediocre. Not terrible, but neither of us would ever eat there again. Mine in particular was overly salty. Salt should not be the primary taste in any dish. Add in completely lackluster service, and.... no thanks.

I disliked how spicy this place is. I feel like they overcompensate for their lack of flavor with spices and it's distasteful. I judge thai places by their pad thai because I feel like that's a dish most places keep consistent and don't take liberties with. Thumra's pad thai was very dry, spicy and lacked your traditional sweet and delectable... More

My chicken with peanut sauce was watered down. They need to drain the spinach before added the sauce. The meal was ok.

Good, spicy, tasty Thai-like food. Good value. Not really "authentic" thai but still satisfying.......................

The place is small and a little tacky. However, on the back of the menu is the story of the family that owns the place. It helps you to understand why they may not be a "fancy" as other places. They have come from a very tough background. The food is delicious and made with love. It was a little... More

Awesome jungle curry (no coconut milk so even better for me as I don't like extra thick curies). We also tried the pad khee mao curry and it was spicy (we asked for it), tasty and did not have unneeded creamy ingredients. I'm definitely going back - one of the better places in the Seattle area when it comes to... More

Although the service is slow and their English halting, the food is worth the wait and the atmosphere is kitshy but charming. After reading the bio printed on the menu (classic American entrepeneurial story) I want this restaurant and this family to SUCCEED!

I have been to this restaurant before and figured it may have been a fluke. I gave them another shot. We were seated near the door. It was cold and drafty. Service was horrible. We waited for everything. It's a small restaurant. The food wasn't worth the wait, unfortunately.
