Our family has been going to Cathay inn for over 40 years. It's still our favorite place for Chinese food. It's a family business. Excellent food.

I have been going here for more than 20 years. We have had many family gatherings here due to large seating areas and an accommodating staff. Good basic food at around $10 per plate and always large portions. You never go away hungry. Substitutions are generous and the service is prompt.

Visited the Cathay Inn with my husband for a lunch date. Neither of us have been there for a couple of years. We each ordered a standard lunch combination plate. The sweet & sour pork I had was awful. Could barely chew it it was so tough, & the sauce was anything but tasty. The fried rice was mushy &... More

When we want Chinese food, this is our go-to. My hubby has a garlic allergy and they are always accommodating to his needs. Service is friendly and timely. I have to agree the water is terrible, tho. Not sure why as this is not true in other Spokane restaurants.

We ordered to go and everything was prepared fresh and it was yummy! The sauces are placed in separate containers so as to not make the food soggy. It is quite the job preparing food to go here because they take the time to place everything carefully into their proper containers. Everything ordered was correct and in the bags including... More

My husband and I had lunch here yesterday. It was delicious!! My husband loves Egg Foo Young and says there's is the best you can get outside of the home. The last 2 times we went there, he tried the Chicken Foo Young and loved it just as much. I personally love their Sweet & Sour Chicken. The breading isn't... More

It had been awhile since we had hit up the Division St. Chinese food scene. Not remembering which one was good, we drove the street looking to see which parking lot was the fullest. The Cathay Inn won. Entering, we realized they must have the employees park in the front. More cars than customers. Service was on the slow side... More

I went with a group of twelve ladies and we enjoyed our visit. I had the Mu Shoo and loved it. I also tried the crab and cream cheese (crab lagoon, although other restaurants call it crab ragoon) fried appetizer and it was good. For a big group, they were very efficient and the waitress was friendly and helpful.

I have been going to the restaurant since the days when they were on the corner and the main door faced Division Street and when Francis was the city limits. The recipes they use are American style Chinese but the taste is always fantastic. Quite a selection including vegetarian for those who want it. Their dinner platters are always a... More

In 1950, Tom F. Eng introduced Spokane to the delicacies of fine Chinese cuisine at his restaurant, the Cathay Inn, at 3714 North Division. It was dedicated to treating customers like family, serving only the finest, freshest, quality ingredients. Today, The Cathay in is in its fourth generation of family ownership, with Raymond Eng, Tom's great grandson running the business at the same address. Over the years the building has changed and expanded, but the ethic of fine food and excellent customer service has remained the same. In addition to delicious traditional, cooked to order Chinese dishes, the Cathay Inn also serves more exotic fare like Peking Duck, Moo Go Gai Pan and Moo Shu Pork. Besides the longevity of the Eng family, many of the servers at the Cathay Inn are third generation. All of us here at the Cathay Inn take pride in our heritage and legacy of great food and great family service. We keep our guests our most important focus. Thank you for visiting. Call the Cathay Inn for your next dine in reservation, take out or banquet!
