It was hard to decide what to order, as everything sounded delicious. I saw some of the pancakes that were ready to be served, and they looked amazing! Instead I chose eggs with a biscuit. The biscuit left a bit to be desired. It did not taste like a southern buttery biscuit. It was heavy and a bit dry. But... More

The food was good. However, we made the mistake of going on a Saturday morning at 10. We were seated after only 10 minutes, which we took as a good sign. Wrong. We should have left after waiting quite awhile for our order to be taken. Then, it was over 45 minutes before we received our food, without any heads... More

Liked the atmosphere. It was like walking into so many of the places I used to frequent on the coast of Maine. It was warm and comforting. The food was good and what I expected. The prices were great.

I had read good reviews of Shakabrah Java so I was looking forward to using a Groupon coupon and treating a friend to lunch. We went on Tuesday December 30, 2014 about 12:45 pm. Upon entering, the hostess told us to go back to the cash register where she gave us each a menu and took our orders. I also... More

Make sure your party is all there before you ask for a table. The food was very good and everybody was able to find something to eat!

Well I have walked by this place on my way to Legendary Doughnuts and it always looks busy. So I was in Tacoma this morning and thought I would give this breakfast hot spot a try. The service and feel of the place were fantastic the breakfast nothing special the link sausages were not good looked like the cheap little... More

We go there just to hang out and relax and enjoy a good breakfast. We usually sit on the self-serve side and love to watch the people who patronize Shakabrah. It's like a slice of Tacoma --very multi-cultural, low key and fun.

Going out for breakfast is my favorite dining experience. There are many good choices in the Tacoma area, but this is one of the best. First, I like the atmosphere. Growing up in the area, this building was once a florist shop I often used buying flowers for proms and special occasions, so there is that nostalgia. The wait staff... More

I go here about once a month for a relaxed breakfast with either a friend or my husband. The food is good, service is quick. The first part of the restaurant as you come in is self service and they have full service in the back. It's casual and a great place to grab a bite.

Went for breakfast and was very disappointed. Service was nonexistent as we waited a very long time for someone to take our order and for our food to arrive. While we were waiting for someone to take our order, the boy who brought us water along with his “colleagues” were standing around either talking with each other or texting on... More
