Our waitress was fantastic, fellow patrons very nice, the breakfast amply portioned and the bacon was AWESOME. I'd go back in a second but add a few side-orders of it to my order.

Business trip. Asked person at motel desk where she recommended eating and she enthusiastically recommended Vale Inn Cafe which she frequented. A little hard to find; had to do a U-turn but got there. Plenty of parking. Door is on side rather than front of building. Gracious and helpful staff armed with sense of humor. Lots of locals which is... More

This is a nice little neighborhood restaurant. Plenty of seating at the counter and lots of tables. It is a favorite of the locals. Prices are great and food plentiful( I had leftovers enough for another whole meal). Service was great, and my server was very attentive.

We were excited to see a restaurant with tempting steak prices for Saturday nights. Horribly disappointed. We almost left as we walked in. The dark, dingy, unkept appearance of the restaurant was overwhelming. We ordered our "steaks". They were the type of "steak" you see on a steak sandwich. Very thin and very fatty. Our son ordered chili (his favorite... More

When you walk in, you can see this place has been around since the 1920 or 30's. Not that is bad, sort of cool to take it all in. The counter area is retro and popular. My waitress was attentive and noted the specials on the board. I had the hot beef sandwich, which was great home made food. The... More

rices are decent. Burgers seem to be very good. They have a salad bar. This is a small establishment, do not expect bells or whistles. I found the service better than the cafe down the street.

When we got there for breakfast less than 1/2 the tables were occupied. We waited more than an hour for our food to come our of the kitchen. There were three cooks and it looked like they spend more time trying to decide who would do what than they did cooking. One of the cooks kept cleaning her spatula on... More

They have an extensive breakfast menu that is very reasonable. Ask for the homemade bread toasted or have the French toast. Very good senior menu. Their salad bar is set up for Friday and have a very good Friday night fish fry. Their baked potatoes aren't the greatest. Daily specials at a reasonable price.

The Vale Inn is a funky, welcoming place filled with locals. A T-shirt, blue jeans, and baseball cap is the dress code for men. You don't go for the atmosphere (unless your idea of atmosphere is completely utilitarian -- 15 tables of various sizes and a counter with 10 or so stools). You go for the food, which is class...
