I was in town for business and I was looking for dinner. I wanted to try a new place and stumbled past the El Capitan as I was driving around. The parking lot was pretty empty, but they just opened so I gave it a shot. Supper clubs are big in this area. I don't know why they don't just... More

Once again in town and had to visit here for a family dinner. Can be busy on weekends but it was Sunday so it wasn't full. Good service. Fresh salads and wonderful bread. Still consistently excellent homemade food, including ravioli, sausage and meatballs. Large portions, so i was too stuffed for dessert. Definitely recommend if you're in the area and... More

We popped in without reservations after a round of golf, and were greeted warmly and seated immediately. Our waitress was very knowledgable about the selections offered. The bread and pastas cannot be beat - they are all homemade by the grandmother of the owner! We had a 4-oz. tenderloin cooked to absolute perfection and a pasta dish that was truly... More

Simply the best Italian pasta selection and quality in this area (red or white sauces), steaks, chicken (some seafood) etc. As good as it gets in the Iron Mountain area. Nice atmosphere, just 2-3 miles from town.

The Senior Class 1965; Florence High School just had it's 50th reunion at the El Capitan. This was, and still is, a popular dining experience from our school days. We were served a traditional Italian family style meal of chicken and pasta. Now keep in mind it's pasta made entirely in house and is second to none. There was plenty... More

Don't stay downtown to eat - venture out a bit and come to the REAL Italian. Home made pasta, amazing bread and wonderful steaks are just a few reasons why you should go here. We went on a Tuesday night when the special was beef tournedos Rossini and shrimp for only $19.99. I picked pasta for a side (see photo)... More

Delicious food! Fettuccine Alfredo was delicious and plenty of it. Loved the bread as well. I've driving past this place for years when visiting my wife's family up here. Glad we finally stopped!

This is a great restaurant. Wonderful staff, great food and warm atmosphere. All the Ostia dishes are great. Try the clams and linguine.

Let's be honest here - you're in the UP or in upper Wisconsin. It's not like you're on upper Michigan Avenue in Chicago. This is old school dining the way it is meant to be. Perhaps I am a bit jaded as my relations are regulars and I always get treated well - but my impression is the way we're... More

House Pasta and Sauces. Very Good. Try the Tiramisu - not too sweet; just right. Close to Pinewood Ski Resort. Open on Sunday. Not too many are open for Dinner on Sunday in Iron Mountain area. Men's Room had a tray of colognes - don't see that too often!
