I had the clucker pie and most of the vegetables were almost raw and the rest of it just wasn't that tasty. Waitress was attentive and the atmosphere was nice, but I feel overcharged for food that I could make better at home.

Took a Saturday drive to check out The Monarch and it's home brews, and Irish food. It didn't disappoint. My craft John Robert Porter was great. The corned beef, potatoes and Rueben were awesome. Bar/Restaurant was ornate with Irish decor. Hosts were friendly and polite....More

Description
Overlooking the Mississippi River, at the foot of Eagle Bluff, the tallest point on the river. Wisconsin's oldest operating tavern and original to 1894, also features The Absolute Rock Bottom Pub and is home to the 1860's recipes of The Fountain City Brewing Co.
15 Foot pressed tin ceilings, hardwood floors and hand carved back bar, tables, etc.
Soon to be listed on the National Historic Register.
