While specializing in all things Tasmanian & the very best of fare our state provides, all meals here are fabulous & all have a European twist. This is to be expected as this establishment is owned by the much travelled , wine making guru Josef Chromy, who tends to add his Czech upbringing to his food . Dont expect a... More

Booked lunch in the restaurant, which is promoted as fine dining Firstly , do not have bus groups doing wine tastings in close proximity of other dining guests and in turn obstructing one's view of the supposed great views. Food was of a good standard. As far as service goes, the girls , could learn a lot from the male... More

I love going to a good restaurant and letting the chef decide what to serve me and Josef Chromy's stood out from the palate tempter of a fresh succulent oyster. The smoked salmon with fennel and anchovy was a delightful mix as was the pork belly with smoked eel. By the time we'd finished the fish with velouté and orecchiette... More

Thank you for a quick lunch before we flew back to Melbourne. We had a range of starters to share, my favourite being the organic tomato salad and the pork belly. They had a glass of the house sparkling wine which is also delicious. The view from outside over the water and the rest of the Gardens is beautiful. I... More

We had lunch here. Staff were very helpful. Venue was amazing with wonderful views. Food was well prepared and extremely tasty. Loved that you could buy their excellent wine by the carafe. Only disappointment was no room for dessert. Next time!!

We came across a Josef Chromy wine in Hobart a few years ago by chance and visited the cellar door when we drove to Launceston. Going by that first experience, we had to come back! The staff are very friendly and the food in the restaurant is just superb. This time the beef cheeks and polenta were standnout dishes. You... More
