Stopped for Breakfast this Sunday. The place is very clean. Service was very friendly and efficient. We had their specials the strawberry waffle and Chicken Fried Steak and eggs. The waffle was great and large amount of strawberries. The Chicken Fried steak and eggs is a big breakfast. It was also very good.

Looked like a great local restaurant with a woodsy décor and it was. We enjoyed our lunch there: the food was really good. The service was great. And the prices were reasonable.

We own a cabin close to this restaurant and regularly stop for breakfast. Staff are always friendly and prompt with service. the food is what you expect from small town places, large portions and delicious! If ever travelling this route to get further North it is well worth the stop to enjoy a good bite to eat and stretch the... More

The atmosphere, décor and Friendly Staff made our visit very relaxing. The food was to die for! My Uncle had pancakes which were as big as his plate and delicious! I admit; the rest of us had a cod platter with two huge pieces of cod, fries, sauerkraut and a dinner roll at 11:00 a.m. The service was quick and... More

Very pleasant place to eat. Friendly staff. Breakfast was served after lunch so that was nice. Ribeye for lunch was just right. Oh, the bacon on the breakfast plate was from a local butcher so extra good. Reasonable prices too.

Passing through Iron River? There are better places to eat, but "The Roost" is perfectly adequate. Nothing special, but it will do. Once morning I had the WORST pancakes of my life. Truly inedible ... but maybe that was a fluke ... I mean, how do you ruin something as simple as a pancake? Salad bar is dull, but at... More

We left our motel in Ashland and decided to drive a while and eat a little later. This was a fortunate choice, as we wheeled into the "forecourt" of this delightful premises. A very friendly place with delicious breakfast items, set off by a homey interior. We hope to pass this way again.

The waitress wasn't in any hurry to take our order or give us the check, but in between, it was a pleasant experience. She shared he sense of humor and told us about the bargain of the day--delicious bread pudding for only $1. "You could start with that," she said.
