We almost didn't go because it was so full but got seated within 5 minutes and food was cheap, fast and veryyyy good!

Nothing fancy, just good food at reasonable prices. Just like was served in every cafe 40 to 50 years ago. Chicken dumpling soup everyday! Breakfast is very good and they know hash browns should be crisp. Great for families and dining on a budget.
I like hot hamburger meals here and wanted on there. They had hot beef and hot turkey, so I talked them into making my favorite. The only problem with the meal was they used white bread instead of toasted wheat requested. It was flavorful anyway. Potatoes were good and there was an ample amount of gravy. Whether or not it was good is a matter of personal preference. I would call it average, not good, not bad. Never offered a beverage refill. Made a mistake on my order but made it right, right away.
It feels like this place has been in La Crosse forever. And clearly the staff know most of the regulars. I had corned beef hash (as breakfast is served all day) and my wife had a BLT. This place has very good food and is popular with the locals.
A few great items on the menu, their salads for one. But other items like pasta entrees, fish, Friday fish---yuck. Not to mention their numerous monthly health code violations. Gives me the jeebies. We won't go back anymore and it's close to our home. Ick.
