I visited the Wisco with a party of six on a fairly slow night. Every staff member was pleasant and attentive. Drinks were amazingly cheap and the food was delicious, especially the (rightfully praised) French onion soup. The building's plain exterior conceals a delightful retro...atmosphere that is neither dated nor overwrought. This character is well served by the decor and the music. I will definitely be back!More

Friday Fish Fry - some of the best perch fish fry we have ever had, delicious! Our first time visiting, we found the staff to be very welcoming and they made it special for our anniversary. The popcorn before dinner was so good, and the...after dinner ice cream drink was even better!! We will definitely return when back in the area and will recommend to our friends!More

I really wanted to love this place based on the reviews. We had old fashioneds at the bar, good but not hand muddled. We had an hour wait which wasn't an issue since we didn't have reservations and we could chat at the bar. The...owners are very friendly and made us feel welcome. The service was fine. The relish tray was good, loved the pate', the cheese and the loaf of bread was great. The meal itself was disappointing. Two of us had steak, med rare, there wasn't a hint of pink in the meat. It was so thin it reminded me of eating at Ponderosa years ago. The twice baked potato was ok, served just warm. I tasted the perch as well. It was soggy. Sadly I am not sure I will rush back.More

Everything about the Wisco is top notch! From the decor, cocktails, bar area, food and staff!! Our waitress, Katie, was a delightful and extremely well trained server with exceptional customer service skills! That is rarely seen these days. We had the crab stuffed haddock, salmon,...and poor mans lobster-absolutely excellent. The have nailed down the Supper Club experience with their signature relish tray and hot fresh chips!! Oh and the pickled beets-YUM!!! You won’t be disappointed. Thanks for a great meal, again!!More

This is by far our most favorite place to eat. Great food. Excellent service and a lovely atmosphere. We haven't found a dish we didn't love. You definitely need to try the melt in your mouth ribs and the hickory pie. The hickory nuts are...locally grown and the pies are made at The Wisco. My mouth is watering thinking about it. Stop in. You will feel welcome from the time you enter to the time you leave.More

On our now annual "pilgrimages" back to Wisconsin, we always try to take in a new or different Supper Club to experience "Fine Dining"- Wisconsin style. My sister forwarded information on this relatively new spot, so we had to give it a try. Located in...Leroy, a suburb of Mayville, this location has actually served as an eating establishment, of sorts, for many years. Approximately two years ago, the proud owners(as they should be), Mike and Teresa Amerling converted it into the establishment it is today. So how does it rate??: Atmosphere: While owner Mike admits that they did have to clean it up a bit, you'll enjoy the warm, nostalgic, "kitschy" feel that is the hallmark of a Wisconsin Supper Club. Service: FRIENDLY is the operative word here. Our server, "K" was exactly what one would want: personable, helpful, and knowledgeable. But what stood out most was the graciousness that Mike and Teresa showed to all patrons. Drinks: I love Old Fashions. But I have to confess- NOT the non-traditional versions with "sweet" or "sour" mix that are commonly served only in Wisconsin. I ordered mine with a splash club soda (as is the traditional version) and found that the bartender filled the glass with about 8 oz of soda. Not good. With my guidance, and the overview of Mike the owner, a good Old Fashion was produced by their mixologist. .....Other drinks were just fine. Food: Yes, the Holy Land's Roepke's Village Inn has its' unmatched salad bar,. ...but The Wisco has an unmatched appetizer tray(veggies, spreads, crackers). Really good. While Supper Club diners love their cuts of beef on Saturdays, I have to confess that our party of four all had fish: Walleye, Salmon, and Crab Stuffed Haddock. All were very good. Your classic after dinner (ice cream based) supper club drinks were as good as anywhere. Value: As with most Supper Clubs- all items are more than reasonably priced. In closing: For a Saturday evening, it was sad to see that the restaurant was relatively empty. It's unfortunate, for if it was located in the Holly Land, it would easily and successfully compete toe-to-toe with Roepke's. We would certainly return and would recommend this spot to anyone.More
