We have eaten here on several occasions. We have always found it to be clean and comfortable, with a congenial staff. The food has always been flavorful, well priced, and prepared quickly. It is with deep regret we report it's closure.
I went here based on a recommendation from our hotel. It was a really pleasant experience. The ambience inside was cozy and cute. The service was attentive and friendly. The food was good - not amazing, but quite tasty. They even gave the mothers who...were dining there roses for Mother’s Day weekend. Would recommend for a good meal and a relaxing atmosphere.More
The only way I received a 2nd cup of coffee was to ask, they never once offered even when they walked right by me with the pot about 15 times. when I received my order I told the girl the order was right,( not the...way I asked for it to be) she said yes we know, but we did not see it until the last minute, than she just walked away, and did not ask if she could make it right. I guess you need to be someone they know to get good service.More
Ate breakfast at Stocke's Backstreet Cafe with another couple after staying overnight a block away at the Audubon Inn Hotel. The four of us each had a different menu item all of which were outstanding. The cafe was nicely appointed and spotless and the service...was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend the cafe for breakfast! Large portions at a very reasonable price.More
We were all set to have a delicious homemade breakfast per the reviews we read before going to Horicon Marsh. We walked from our hotel and to our dismay the sign said opens at 11am during the summer. WHAT?!
This cafe is strictly American family restaurant fare, which is exactly what we were looking for. The breakfast was hearty and reasonably priced. The waitress was really chipper and attentive. We were the only non-locals in the place at 6:30 AM.
I love small towns for the hidden little restaurants. Back Street came highly recommended from the locals and it is a well deserved reputation. The fish fry is very good and the staff is friendly. We moved, but make a trip back once in a...while.More
Backstreet cafe has delicious breakfasts for a reasonable price. One of the omelettes (Cody's All in One) has ham, cheese, and hash browns inside, and for some reason this tastes way better than a ham and cheese omelette with hash browns on the side. Their...fried chicken is also delicious - crispy and hot. Also a plus is that the kids meals are inexpensive.More
