We were passing through town and stopped. Here for lunch after reading the reviews. The food was good and I would go back. I wouldn't say we felt welcome with open arms as some of the reviews suggest, but maybe it was because they were short staffed.

Good homemade food. Overheard the staff talking about hosting a Thanksgiving dinner for local people....nice, big hearted folks.

I grew up going to Merrimac as a child. As an adul I go back there to see old neighbors and Childhood friends. If it in the morning after coming across on the ColsakIII, I will head for breakfast and a cup of coffee. It is a small friendly restaurant. A nice begining for my reliving Merrimac.

We just came back from our second visit to this cafe. Yes, it's tiny and so has a lot crammed into a small space, but the food is excellent! They specialize in breakfast, served all day, and very good lunch items, along with changing daily specials. Candy and her helpers are warm and helpful. All types of egg dishes are... More

Very good breakfast. Small so don't bring a big group a people. Seating is for only 15-20 people at most. So I would say for 2-4 people would be the most you would want to take or go some place else. But they sure make a good meal !

Heard from a friend about an old style eatery. just had to try it out today! had the special and everything was cooked to order. sort of cool to peek at the cook while they make your food from scratch. If you are a high brow, don,t bother. But if you want good food at a fair price. Visit Candy's,... More

We stopped at Candy's on a day trip to Parfrey's Glen with a family of four. The service was OK as was the food, but the resteraunt was very dirty at the time as were the bathrooms. We would not stop a second time.

I just saw this review and would like to respond. I'm happy that this guest likes our service and food. I am sorry that they found my cafe "dirty". I assume we were really busy on the week end. My little place has an open kitchen with little work space so things get very spread out and look chaotic when... More

If I have been here once I have been 200 times in the past 20 years, mostly because the nearest competition is 12 miles away. It used to be Casey's, however she sadly passed away. That said, the eggs come the way you ordered them, the coffee is hot, the owner/cook will usually smile and give you a friendly greeting,... More
