We ate dinner at the Rumpus Room, as our friends are holding a wedding rehearsal there in April. Started off by selecting a beer from their craft menu - plenty to select from. Moved to Braunschweiger and Brown Sugar Bacon. If the bacon doesn't sound appealing, then try it. You will love every bite. Topped it off with a MKE... More

Had reservation and was seated promptly. Waitress suggested an appetizer, which I ordered and am glad I did. The sampler tray included the best bacon I've ever tasted. For dinner I had the schnitzel. I believe it was the most tender I've ever had. When back in Milwaukee, I will make sure to go again.

We visited the Rumpus Room with some friends for a pre-theatre dinner. The service was good and friendly. Unfortunately, the meals were not so good. I ordered the lamb stew. The gravy was rich and tasty but there was barely any lamb in it. About 5 bites, or so it seemed. The bowl was filled with pearl onions and underdone... More

The appetizers are amazing. Fried cheese curds and brown sugar cartelized bacon! Yes, a plate of bacon is THE appetizer. Only in Wisconsin. Try the manhattans also-delicious.

This place appeared to be a popular stop for the after-work crowd; not many for an early dinner. My wife and I shared a generous serving of battered cod with potato pancakes - both tasted good. Malbec & Pinot gris are included in Happy Hour. The Malbec was good. Location is convenient to many downtown entertainment venues.

This was chosen as a group get together (I was a guest). It really isn't my type of menu, but we went to see everyone. The table we had was fine. It was large enough and by the door so everyone could find it. The server (later the problem) was good about splitting up the drink bills, but didn't seem... More

We visited Rumpus Room for the second consecutive NYE dinner. The beer, cocktails, food, and service was great. They do affordable, exciting comfort food in a creative manner. The location is great, perfect for seeing a show at the Pabst Theater or the Marcus Center for Performing Arts after dining.

My husband and I went here to use our pub passes. We ordered Oskar Blues Death by Coconut Porter on tap (if you haven't tried it, you MUST!); it is delicious. For appetizers, we had the pretzel with beir cheese dipping sauce; it was yummy and it was a good size for an appetizer. We also had the steamed mussels... More

In 2014, we visited Rumpus Room, and I was quite disappointed. This time around, we stopped in just after a Sunday matinee, and had a much nicer experience--better food quality, better and friendlier service. We loved the Maple bacon appetizer, and I thought the salmon was delicious: tender and not overcooked. Frank (if memory serves) was the host, and he... More

We had tickets for the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra's holiday show on a Saturday evening. I made a reservation knowing that there were numerous other events going on downtown that night. We got there early to have a drink and appetizer at the bar and let the hostess know we were there. Great bartenders and we got pretty fast service even... More

The Rumpus Room is a European style gastro pub in downtown Milwaukee that combines adventurous but approachable, comforting food and one of the best craft beer and cocktail programs in the city.

The Rumpus Room offers a laid-back casual dining experience and features a spacious bar, an intimate dining room, a charcuterie area and a separate private event space. The menu emphasizes local, sustainable ingredients whenever possible, and the bar offers more than 20 beers on tap and more than 100 in bottles, plus a craft cocktail menu that changes with the seasons.

One of the best restaurants in Milwaukee's lively downtown entertainment district, Rumpus Room frequently welcomes theater-goers before or after a performance at the nearby Marcus Center for the Performing Arts.
