A must stop to this Spy Haven when I am in Milwaukee. Whether you are a Secret Agent or a wannabe Spy this place is fun and an irreverent homage to The genre. Try to find the hidden treasures within for a cool prize with...More

We took one night to "bar hop" within walking distance of our hotel (Pfister). We would talk to other folks at each bar to figure out where to go next - and this place was recommended 3 times. It was slightly challenging to find -...More

Best for drinks and an entertaining evening. It has the spy theme, and excels at that! Don't go there if you want to watch football, but if you want to focus on friends and the spy theme, this is the place to go!!

We had a wonderful experience at the Safe House. The Marcus Corporation has taken over excellent food and service, it's a fun place to take kids, it's very entertaining. Parking can be and issue but worth the hassle. You have to guess the secret password...More

Great interest in all the decor. Make sure you walk around to all the different rooms. You won't be disappointed. Food is OK but nothing great. Price is on the high side and service was good. Large bar area with tables in different rooms adds...More

Nothing has changed since Marcus took over - except for maybe a few digital things. Food is great. I went for lunch recently. Cool place to take kids - kids 8 and up will enjoy it most - imho. Great for the spy buff.

A great place to take people from out of town, they will wonder why you are taking them down a dark alley to get there. Fun atmosphere, it is fun to watch on the t.v screens all the silly things people need to do to...More

It's a cool theme to base a bar on. However it should be simply a stop in the hop. I would not recommend this as a place to stay and drink all night in. Theme is cool the bar just seems very dated.

Must try the cheese curds and the Prime Rib Timed Drop... both were amazing. I literally had to roll myself out of there.

Description
In an alleyway near the river, two gas lights and an inconspicuous nameplate—with the name International Exports Ltd.—is all that mark the brick front of this establishment. However, this spy-themed restaurant and bar has been a favorite Milwaukee attraction since its creation in 1966 by founder David Baldwin. Yes, you need the password. No, we cannot divulge it. But rest assured, as soon as you pass your fun clearance test to prove you’re a friendly operative, you will enter a spy’s nest of global espionage and entertainment! Expect intrigue and surprises as you explore the twists and turns of the Safe House, operated by an entity known only as Control. A former jazz club, liquor store and hardware store were bought to expand the Safe House and build out a theme of international sectors. In the German Sector examine the CIA Cold War artifacts display, or make a call from our C.I.A (Crafty Instant Alibi) phone booth. Solve the riddle of the world’s largest mechanical puzzle in the Mediterranean sector. Gather your spy-ring for a brief meeting and order a Great Spytini and watch it whiz through the pneumatic tube system, arriving shaken, not stirred. After a few cocktails you may feel like you’re sinking in your chair—but don’t worry—you’re probably sitting in the lucky ejection seat at the Interpol bar. We can’t tell you much more—but keep in mind—good spies never leave the way he or she came in! Wired Magazine calls the Safe House “one of the hippest places on the planet.” Featured on the History Channel and Food Channel, the Safe House has been visited by Rachael Ray herself! Our menu includes gourmet sandwiches and entree spycials for lunch and dinner, as well as a furtive Friday fish fry. For vegetarian operatives, Control recommends the Hail to the Caesar Salad, among many more. A full selection of cocktails, wine and beer are served in an atmosphere of family fun. Food Network’s Best Of calls it “Too much to pass up.”
