This was a comically bad experience. First, they ignore Covid safety protocols on Fridays. Prior to going, we called and asked about their protocols. She said normally they only seat every other booth to maintain distance, but on Fridays they seat all the tables so...people don’t have to wait for a table. That’s just dumb. We decided to place a to-go order since this place was the closest option to our hotel. The kid on the phone was terrible at his job. We asked about their fish options. He said, “Fish fry. Fish sandwich.” No other information (how it’s prepared, what it comes with, how much it costs). We ordered 2 fish fries and all he said was “ok. It’ll be ready in 10 min.” Nothing about choosing a side or anything. My husband went in to pick it up. He stood there for a least 3 min waiting for someone to help him while employees didn’t even acknowledge him. Finally he got our food. When we got to the hotel we found soggy, cold French fries, oddly shaped, over cooked, flavorless, dry fish, flavorless coleslaw, and bland tarter sauce. One of my fish pieces was square - like a giant processed fish stick and not at all like a fish filet. The other piece looked like a chicken wing. They gave us no silverware, so we ate it with our hands and had to shake/pour the coleslaw into our mouths. Thankfully we had stopped at Kwik Trip so we had some alcoholic drinks to wash it all down with. Don’t eat here.More

Great place for a night out. They accommodate large groups well. Although I have always wondered why it is so dark? Food is quite good for the price you pay. Plenty of options and great drink specials

Just me. Happy hour 4-7 so I caught Makers Mark Manhattans for $5. 👍👍👍👍 Sandwiches are huge. Salads good. Service great! I would come back in a heartbeat ❤️

I have been to this store and the one in Fon Du Lac several times over the last 10 or more years! I recommend both! I have never been disappointed!

I had the fish. Yummy. Husband had the little John sandwich. Yummy. It was happy hour. 2 drinks for the price of one. Lucky us.

A very popular place during the 2019 AirVenture...because there was a pedestrian gate right by this restaurant. Dined here twice and experience and a waiting list both times. Big parking lot to match the big, long bar inside. There was nothing special about the atmosphere...inside. On my two visits, our service was not bad considering how busy it was. My orders (1/2 sandwich [the Little John] and salad...bacon cheeseburger) were adequate, but nothing to rave about. Now my buddy really likes their french onion soup and got it on both visits. This is a Pepsi place...sorry Coke fans). Prices were a little high. So just a run of the mill restaurant for me.More

Yes, the place IS dark inside, but that's part of the appeal for me. Old European eateries are dark inside. The staff's costumes added to the ambience. Portions are generous and the prices fairly reasonable. My favorites were the onion soup and reuben sandwich. I've...been going there 28 years and have found the quality to be consistent. One complaint: they will sell only a few sandwiches by the half! Seems to me that a knife will work on ALL their sandwiches! That sort of policy would normally cost a restaurant a star, but my server, Dyani, went the extra mile to please me and make my time there a delight. So.....five stars it is!More

This is a cute place that looks like something from a fairytale. Our waitress was super awesome and had a great sense of humour. Well worth the stop for a burger.

During a recent visit we found their Friday fish fry to be less than spectacular. If you like bland, mushy tasting haddock, this is your place. Friar Tuck's could also use a bit of an update. It's the same dark looking place with dated furniture...its been since the 1980's. I should also comment that the staff during our visit was very nice.More

The locations of Friars in Fond du Lac and Oshkosh are old and tired looking...and this includes the waitresses “Friar” dresses. The menu hasnt changed in years, but the quality has declined. Both are dark, dreary, wndowless, old heavy furniture and booths. Used to be...my number one choice for lunch, but not anymore.More
