We went here tonight after seeing the reviews. We don’t live in town but were near the area for something else. We love Mexican restaurants and figured why not. What we liked: - the waiter was very nice and friendly. He was quite literally the...best part of our visit What we didn’t like: - the guac tastes like it’s missing something. Salt, pepper, or garlic… not sure but it’s missing a key component and tastes very bland. - we all agreed our plate choices lacked flavor. The enchirito was like unseasoned ground beef rolled up. - The inside music does not fit the vibe they’re going for. Playing the country music station is completely out of character. Needs some mariachi music or something similar to fit the vibe. - Booth was super small for 2 adults and 2 teens. - The postres dessert for $7 was served on a plate the size of a coffee saucer with 2 tiny barely 2” things surrounded by redi whip to fill the plate. While they tasted good, the serving size is VERY small. This dessert is not shareable. We will not go out of our way to come back. If I’m the area we will try something else.More

We were in Port Washington for a meeting and decided to stay for dinner. The atmosphere was very Mexican and nicely appointed . They have wooden swings at the bar which looked like fun. The waitstaff was very friendly and welcoming. Our waitress was very...pleasant and attentive. The food is mid-priced but worth what you pay. I had the bean and cheese corn tostada which took up most of my plate. It was piled high with toppings and one was plenty for a meal. The chips and salsa were good, but the salsa was a tad hot for me. My husband thought it was fine. My husband had the Po'boy shrimp tacos which he said had a good flavor and the amount of shrimp was just right. The sides of rice and beans were pretty standard. We would definitely come back.More

My companion and I visited Beanies on a busy Saturday afternoon. We were quickly seated but then sat for quite a while. A friendly young man eventually showed up and we commenced the ordering process. He made no mention of Specials and we only learned...of them by overhearing other tables. Our meals arrived about 15 minutes after ordering. I found my chicken tacos to be bland but okay. The side dishes of rice and refried beans were dry and not warm. I sent back the iced tea as I could not detect any actual tea. This was accepted with a problem. My companion loved her fish tacos and sticky rice. She also liked her drink. We waited in vain for water refills and watched with envy as nearby diners were more professionally served. The paper thin napkins had long since fallen apart so we also waited in vain to ask for additional napkins. The colorful decor provided a cheerful effect.More

Stopped in for a late Sunday lunch with the family. The restaurant was not busy, however like many establishments they are understaffed and acknowledged it was a wait inside or immediate seat on the patio. The patio is the VERY best thing going. Great seating...and beautiful foliage. Server was good and attentive. The food was bland, average food and prices were ridiculous. Steak quesadilla was $16.50 and didn’t include sour cream; 4 pieces, not impressed. Chicken tacos (3 soft) were tasty, however beans and rice were not authentic and they should be embarrassed to serve these. I think tacos were $14.50. Chips and salsa were so-so. Certainly nothing to think twice about. We will not be back.More

The first thing you notice when you walk in, are the swings hanging from the ceiling by the bar. Very fun. The food is average for mexican fare. I am not saying don't go, but don't expect to be wowed. The food is OK and...I do go here several times a year. I am always happy but never wowedMore

I was there for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Had a high school server. She didn't say anything more then she had to. What would you like..how is everything.. would you like your bill now. I had chicken tortilla soup. Very bland..didn't even finsh all.We overtipped...the waitress since she was young. Never received a thank you. Overall it was an expensive lunch($73) plus tip for two people eating bland food and having an unfriendly waitress. I will not go back againMore

Great Mexican food in a fun atmosphere. Great for couples or families. Fun bar set up with swings instead of chairs at one section of the bar. I had the chimi and it was great. We also had the fajitas and none made it home.

Plenty of fun could be had at Beanies with big swings hanging from the ceiling at the bar. Food is good with plenty of chips and salsa. Staff are really good and friendly. Outdoor seating allows dogs. Moderately priced and full bar. Street parking only.

We spent one night in Port Washington while traveling. I'm a big fan of Mexican food, and found Beanie's via a Google search. It is just a block or so from downtown Port Washington and was easy to find. Both of us enjoyed our meals....Service was good and prices seemed reasonable. Everything was above average but not spectacular.More

Met my mom here for lunch - absolutely delicious! I ordered Fernando's Ranchero with shrimp - the sauce is sooooo amazing and shrimp - large, sweet and perfectly done! My mom ordered the Shrimp Po Boy tacos - she said they could've had a little...less breading but they were excellent! We shared a turtle Christas postre - heavenly!! The waitress Evelyn was very professional, friendly, knowledgeable! Great ambience - beautiful flamenco music!! We will be back!!More
