I really wanted to like this place because I thought it might be one of those places that looked like a whole in the wall but had great food. Sadly, the latter was not true. My husband and I ate here 3 times to give it a chance, but we were dissappointed each time and will not be back. The... More

Went to shady sues for dinner and as usual Ted the bartender was attentive and friendly. Dinner was great, had blackened salmon. It was moist and had great flavor.

Good food, good drinks, great service. We have been a couple of times and both times were a great experience. The bartender was pleasent and our waitress was very efficient and nice.

The drink of choice Up North is the "Old Fashioned", and the best place to enjoy it is at Shady Sue's in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. The food is fabulous, the atmosphere is fun and truly representative of the Northwoods - Ted, the bartender, makes the best Old Fashioned drink around!!! The restaurant is small and can become busy and crowed around... More

This place is perfect. Off the usual path. Excellent food, well prepared. Friendly folks and a regular with the regulars. We tolerate the summer crowd because those crowds pay the bills that keep it open for the rest of the year.

Although a couple miles southwest of town, this is worth the extra few minutes. It is a very friendly place with a solid menu & many "specials" to offer something more. This is not "gourmet", nor did we expect that; instead we made it a beef night. The prime rib was perfect, complete with fresh mushrooms & classic horsie sauce,... More

Went for the Friday night fish fry, which we had heard good things about. When you walk in the door, a big bar dominates the room with 10 or so tables scattered around the outside of the bar. This place is quintessential northwoods. Wonderful wood interior, with the art that was on the walls being made up of wine bottles.... More

My boyfriend and I tried out Shady Sues this weekend and we were not disappointed! I had the garlic stuffed tenderloin with the homemade twice baked potato - sooo good! My boyfriend tried the veal cordon bleu with a wild rice side, and he loved it! I'm not one for veal, but I tried a bite and I have to... More

My family and I had dinner at Shady Sue's this weekend and were very disappointed - both at the quality of the food and the many misleading reviews published here and elsewhere. The ambiance is very unappealing, straight out of the 1950's and not updated since. Tablecloths, carpet, wall coverings and curtains are all worn and dirty looking. We were... More
