The goats are fun to see but they could use a larger restaurant or someone who can estimate better for how the wait is! Was disappointed after waiting 45 minutes for a table to find out they wanted us to wait another 30 minutes.........Granted we...More

Tried to come here for breakfast one morning, was told it would be 45 minutes to get a table. This was on a Monday morning. So we went someplace else for breakfast. But then we came back for dinner and got seated right away. The...More

This restaurant was an interesting experience. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was unexceptional however, and I thought the gift shop was overpriced. I will definitely go to Door County again, but this restaurant will not be on my list of places to...More

For me, a trip to Door County, Wisconsin is not complete without a trip to Al Johnson's. It's the restaurant with grass on the roof and best of all the goats. There is even goat cam. How fun is that? The food is delicious. My...More

We had to try this place, been around forever. Goats on the roof, with a goat cam, although they were not there when we ate. Charming decor, waitress in a Swedish dress, very knowledgeable about the food and history. We went for lunch, the 3...More

What a fun place to visit! Loved the dialect of the staff and uniforms as these things brought about a truly authentic feel. I had been unaware that this area was a settlement of Swedes! Great gift store too!

Great idea. Get attention of everyone. Beautiful place. So come in a beautiful day and take pictures. The food is a different story; there are much better places to eat in a short walking distance.

I'm pretty sure they don't have a lunch portion per say. Ive had side portions as small as 4 meat balls per serving, and larger entrée portions. Make sure to get the gravy and a side of lingon berry. Plan on napping... More

Inside, there's a traditional Swedish atmosphere and Scandinavian food specialties, all served by waitresses in dirndls. After dining, visit Al Johnson's Butik, featuring a beautiful selection of Scandinavian products, including clogs, Swedish linens, books, clothing, jewelry, decorative items, books and housewares. Open May - October, 6 AM - 8 PM, And November - April, 7 AM - 3 PM.
