The food is good, but it seems like they are trying to upscale too much. Have eaten there before and preferred the way rolls used to come ( a variety) instead of the one cheese topped roll now.

The food is ok but not great It tasted like the food was cooked somewhere else and just reheated, But the price does not show this.

We ordered the fresh fish (walleye) which is similar to our Canadian Pickerel. Usually, we can enjoy this fish without picking our way through those tiny bones but that wasn't the case this time. So, although the fish was tasty, it wasn't prepared as carefully as it should have been. Service was excellent.

We were at the Veteran's medical clinic and needed a break. Our GPS had us all over Tomah but finally made it. We went there for lunch and arrived early. Stopped in at Gordy's grocery store that is in the same building. Gordy's has a great selection of foods and a deli section to die for. We were so happy... More

We were staying overnight and the hotel clerk recommended Burnstad's as a local option. Layout is very unusual. Service was almost non-existent. Food was average at best. If staying in Tomah again we won't be going back.

I had been at the restaurant in previous years, but my visit, with nine friends, this year was worth talking about. We were there on a Saturday night, Prime Rib special night at Burnstad's Those that had the prime rib were very pleased. I had the Jager Schnitzel and it was very good, especially for the price. One of our... More

We ended up ordering appetizers and dessert. Not quite hungry enough to take on the expensive dinner menu, but the desserts are legendary.

Went to this restaurant for dinner because we wanted a good German meal. We had been traveling around the country on our motorcycle for last month and had heard good things about this place. Well the jeagerschneitzel was awful! Worst I've ever had. In fact the waitress never came over to check on our meal because she probably knew already.... More

We were there a "little" early for lunch, but were not the first ones there. The service was excellent and so was the food. It was Mothers' Day, so their specials may have been a little different than on a regular day. My husband and I had their chicken and our friend had a soup sampler. She said it was... More

I had higher hopes. When we got there last night we had to wait several minutes while the hostess was working on the register. It was as if we did not exist. Customers first folks. Other staff walked by while we waited and not even a greeting. Our food wasn't bad, just not good either. My wife ordered a schnitzel.... More
