Well worth a visit. You can feel the history and tradition. Ice cream in all it's glory and so many flavors to choose from. Due to Covid there is only outside service available so seating in very limited to a few benches. I feel the...need to mention the old adage that you can have too much of even a good thing. The servings here are huge. On our first visit we all (4 of us) ordered 2 scoop servings. It is so much ice cream we each ended up throwing away some of it. The next stop we ordered single scoop servings which were still a bit more than what one person should be eating. It wasn't just us because on both visits we saw plenty of ice cream ending up in the garbage particularly with kids who wanted to try more than one flavor (no samples or 1/2 scoops). Prices are reasonable for the amount of ice cream you get. It was just hard to see so much wasted.More
We visited the Windmill Ice Cream Shoppe with our son and his family. There were a lot of people in line but it moved rather quickly. Could not believe the size of the ice cream cones! The only downfall that I could see was it...they should offer more than one size. There is no way a four-year-old is going to eat the same size ice cream scoop as an adult.More
This is the best place for hand dipped ice cream ever! They will serve it in a cone, waffle cone or a bowl, but the amount of ice cream is is unreal. A scoop fills the cone and then almost a softball size scoop on...top, or 2, or 3. The price is so low you have to drive there even if it means driving out of your way.More
