The very friendly folks at the Brat House Grill have it figured out... Great service, excellent food, and delicious deserts. The home made chips are dusted with some kind of magical Parmesan goodness that will completely render you unable to stop eating them. I highly...More

This place was highly rated on the trip advisor website and well it should be. The Brats were genuine and delish along with the German potato salad. Loved the home made chips and the dill dipping sauce. And I had the German Potato Cakes and...More

Stopped into Brat House on a Wednesday for a late lunch. Food was good (I got the brat burger) but the homemade chips were distinctive. I generally dislike chips but these were very good - not greasy, very tasty. Got some dip with them -...More

Deb recommended the brat burger and we were not dissapointed. Our youngest, age 7, had the Mac N Cheese. He's usually a good sharer but not with this dish. Service was excellent !

We stopped on a Thursday night for open Mike night. There is plenty of local talent, the band and the people who sat in were good. Good service too.

Perfect. We here at the Brat House are so impressed with the volume of talent that show up for our Thursday night open mic night. It's pretty hard to beat a great night of live music with no cover!

We stopped here for a late lunch based on the reviews. This place has a bit of history which was interesting to read about while waiting for your meal as well as admiring the old Stain Glass Windows. The service was good overall and the...More

While we are known for our brats and other German food items, we do make a killer veggie burger. Maybe it's the fact my Wife (is that supposed to be capitalized or not) doesn't eat meat! Glad you enjoyed it and please stop back in...More

If you are a tourist in Wisconsin, you might as well immerse yourself in the local cuisine. You can't escape the many variations on cheese, but you should also take advantage of the long tradition of German cooking in the state. The Wisconsin Dells are...More

Description
Originally constructed in 1850, the Delton Academy was a one room Baptist Boys Schoolhouse. In 1865, it became the Delton Methodist Church. In 1894, the church was expanded and the entryway and side room additions were built. What was originally the entrance was replaced with the G.A.R. stained glass window and the bell tower was added. During this period it was also used as the G.A.R. Hall. The Grand Army of the Republic was the Civil War version of the V.F.W. for the Union army. In 1868, General Order #11 of the G.A.R. called for May 30th to be designated as the day of memorial for Union veterans; originally called "Decoration Day", it later evolved into the U.S. national Memorial Day holiday. The G.A.R. was also active in pension legislation, establishing retirement homes for soldiers, and many other areas which concerned Union veterans. The influence of the G.A.R. led to the creation of the Old Soldiers' Homes of the late 19th century, which evolved into the current United States Department of Veterans Affairs. The back room, bathroom and kitchen addition was added sometime in the 1950's. In the 1970's, the building was then purchased by a group of local residents and it became the Old Delton Academy Antique Mall. In the spring of 2007, the building underwent a revamping and became what it is today; the oldest public building in southwest Wisconsin and home of the Brat House Grill. The building still retains it's original wood floor, wainscoting and window frames. It's remarkable what great shape the building is in after it's extensive and varied history.
