We spent the day in Hilo and were heading back Kona side to our hotel, but needed dinner. Used Google's "restaurants near me" and up popped Ponds. What a lucky find! Even though we didn't have reservstions, we were taken right away (probably wouldnt risk it again, though--use Open Table to be safe) and our seat, the server said, was... More

We were here on Mother's Day. They had a crab stuffed lobster that looked amazing, but we went for some of the other offerings. Very affordable, ample portions and fresh ingredients. There is something for every palate. The window we were seated at had a view of the Koi pond below. I am sure some of the Koi were 100... More

Great variety of food that was well prepared. The papaya salsa was delightful. The bead pudding is a must try. Live music was enjoyable. Warm n friendly service.

They do serve dinner for lunch. Very friendly & hospitable staff with local knowledge to share. Perfect break from hiking around to get some pampering. The Brie Crostini with shrimp & papaya is very good.

The Ice Pond location creates a really nice atmosphere and the food is superb. The staff was both fun and attentive.

This is a very unassuming looking place from the outside. The interior is another story. A lovely airy hospitable place to relax in the serene setting over a large pond. They have a section immediately below the windows that is stocked with Koi (Please don’t feed the fish by the way) but the main attraction is the food. Great meals,... More

We just had a very nice afternoon meal here. I've double checked the location to be sure it's the same everyone else is talking about! Best I can tell, it is! Maybe it's a geographic thing, but I would not call Ponds " fine dining" or "expensive". IMO, it is an older restaurant with a pleasant location on a pond.... More

Seafood was very good. Thoroughly enjoyed the Hawaiian mojito as well. Pleasant, on-the-water atmosphere with live entertainment the day we were there for dinner. Pricey, but no more than the rest of Hawaii.

We chose this place based upon ratings onTripadvisor and we weren't disappointed. Smaller restuarant with tables full on happy diners. Food is family style, so ordering selections of the small plates or big plates are meant to be shared. Good presentation and flavors. We tried the pork shoulder and smoked sushimi. We were happy with our choices. Price is mid... More

Popular with locals, this place has plenty of regulars. Great selection, local-style but a little nicer. Cool, old-Hawaii vibe.
