I have been to other Maui Tacos locations on other islands and was optimistic to find an enjoyable lunch. I don't know if the overall quality has reduced or it's because of the mall location but the food wasn't as amazing as before. The staff were nice but the place is becoming more like a big chain. I would recommend... More

In approaching the small restaurant inside the mall, I should have known better, but being hungry we decided to persist. I ordered a taco salad with chicken and my husband ordered enchiladas. The food came very quickly from what I guessed was from line preparation. My taco shell was decent sized and the salad looked like cabbage rather than lettuce.... More

I live on the other side of the island but whenever I come to Hilo I try to eat here. It is located in the Prince Kuhio Mall near Sears. The food is excellent.

Great authentic Mexican food. With an amazing assortment of salsa choices. Try the shrimp tacos,or chimichangas.. delicious! With a cold beer.. perfect.

We took a trip to Hilo while staying in Kona and stopped in for lunch at Maui Tacos. We did order chicken tacos and ended up with fish tacos but they were very good nevertheless. I would go back again and hopefully they will get my order right. They have a great salsa bar that is complimentary and filled with... More

Went to eat at Maui Taco Hilo @ Prince Kuhio Plaza. I think this was the worst experience I had at an eatery. Placed our order at 5:45p and at 6:45p left Maui Taco without eating. We approached them twice. First my husband at 6:10p, then I did at 6:30p and by 6:45p we got our money back and left.... More

This is located in the Prince Kuhio Mall in Hilo. It is not in the Foodcourt but in the mall near Sears. I have been coming here for years and the food is always excellent. I highly recommend eating here.

In LA it's hard to find bad mexican food, but this place is the worst. The food taste stale and bland. I would never go there again. Save your money.

If you're hungry for Mexican food this is not the best spot in Hilo. If you're shopping at the mall, and are hungry for Mexican food ? Talk yourself out of it, and eat something else. My girls pound tacos. We unfortunately stopped here for lunch, and the only thing that was pounded was my wallet! They picked at the... More

Every time I eat here, the food is always what I expect it to be. Its not great Mexican food, its okay. I don't like the rice, I find it to be too dry. Always love the nachos, I tried the taquitos and that was good too.
