This cafe has been around forever,(1948) it would be hard to find a more "local" eating place on the island, well, maybe Kawamoto Store, but this place is amazing also. I always come here when I return to the island. They are the old meeting place of the 442nd battalion, and claim the naming of the loco moco, along with... More

Heading back to Kona after a long morning hike up at Volcano. We stopped off here for lunch. Our family of 4 ate here and were quite satisfied for our ride home. We ordered the tonkatsu plate, the mix plate, and fried shrimp plate. Food is cooked to order so you know it's fresh. You order at the window and... More

After checking out the Volcano National Park and before driving back to Kona side, we stopped by this place for some local food; do try the Super Local, which has a lot of food; the drinks are pretty good. I also ordered a peach turnover, not bad at all. Did I mention the price is very reasonable? So stop by... More

We were recommended this local favorite. The fish was nice but nothing special or really fresh. The potato mac was good but no special flavor. Seek out other local favs with good ratings.

Walk up windows, picnic type tables under roof. Fast service, not a long wait. They have a pretty extensive menu including several choices of loco - rice, egg, meat, brown gravy. Excellent! VERY affordable.

I always check out the local percentage of clientele and by that standard Cafe 100 is 5 star. And the food is the reason. Tasty, affordable and cooked to order. Outdoor but covered seating. Loco moco's are the signature dish. Egg on protein on gravy on rice.

Quick simple comfort food on the cheap. Breezy covered outdoor seating. In case you don't know already- Loco moco is cooked egg on top of hamburger patty on top of rice, covered with gravy unless you ask for it on the side. Just regular Loco Moco was under $4! There was a large variety of Loco Moco using different types... More

This restaurant has the best Loko Moko in Hawaii. I use to come here in the Eighties and still do when I come to the Big Island.

On a day trip to Hilo from Kona, my husband wanted to go to Café 100 for lunch as it was highly recommended in our Lonely Planet book of the Big Island. You walk up to the outdoor ordering window and choose from a very extensive menu which was a little overwhelming. I chose the Island Girl mainly because of... More

We had their loco moco and katsu curry. Gravy tasted good except that it was too salty for me. The value for money was so good we went back for breakfast the next day. Will definitely come back here if we’re back in Hilo.
