We drove through Pahoa last night and knew where to find the Black Rock Café. There's an adjoining bar which will serve adult beverages to the restaurant. The dinner menu has a fair number of choices. We both had fried Ono but with different sides. The fish was crispy and hot. There were 4 pieces which makes this quite a... More

The home-fries were burnt with an old greasy taste. Portuguese sausage was OK, but pricey. Service was good.

We had dinner here several times; we came here years ago for the first time and keep returning whenever we are back in Pahoa. The food is great, staff is very friendly. It's not a fancy restaurant, but a nice family style diner. Love to come back again!

This is a local eatery, not your typical tourist destination. The food was acceptable, the atmosphere a bit cafeteria, and the staff had some trouble with remembering the order.

Wish we would've found this place sooner. Reasonable prices, friendly staff, great food, all served up fast and within budget!

The food here is very good. My cousin had the pork adobo omelette without the eggs (in other words...just the meat and juice in a bowl). The staff is overworked there because they don't have a busboy, which would help everyone out but the waitstaff is still very friendly and moves with grace around the restaurant.

We went in to Black Rock on a chilly morning. They had the Interior temp set at meat locker levels with A/C on full bore. Asked manger to turn it down; and he refused. We sat down took a quick look at the menu and left for warmer climes. Not sure how they stay in business. At 11am only three... More

We were told to sit anywhere so we did and we waited...and waited. We were about to leave when she showed up with menus and water so we ordered. The food was mediocre at best. Hubs had the admiral platter and I had the fish platter. Neither were very good, quite disappointing actually. The macaroni salad had potatoes in it... More

Had a great lunch with my family including a 3 & a 5 year old. Good food, great service and good value. Big thanks to our server who works 12 to 4. I did not get your name.
