Intimate atmosphere for dinner! Varied menu, fresh food, well-prepared/well-presented, delicious! Excellent service! Fanstastic view of crater!

Way overpriced. The food was good but not for the price. Eat next door at their pub. The only advantage is the first row of tables with a window. Otherwise you can't see much so don't waste you money. Go to dinner at one of the Mountain village restaurants .

The restaurant is situated with a broad windowed wall providing views of the Halemaumau crater for most diners. It's a long way away, though, and not very interesting before dark. The food was good with high end steak and seafood options.

I was impressed; we went there for the view of glowing caldera at night and expected a pricy, marginal meal. Turned out the food, service and presentation were very very good. We also thought the price very reasonable for what we got. I had the Ono (Wahoo for you non Hawaiian types) wrapped in pineapple, a combination I'd never have... More

Went to dinner there with a tour group. Our lovely wait person was spectacular. So attentive. The Papaya Vanilla salad dressing was amazing. The salad itself was very good, had amazing mushrooms in it. I had the Mac Nut Pesto Pasta, it was very good and quite filling. The desert was some wonderful cookies with delicious ice cream. We weren't... More

The food, service and view are just so-so in my opinion. We told the hostess and our server it was our son's birthday but although the hostess wished him happy birthday, our server did not nor did he offer a candle with dessert so we could sing to him. The food was also just ok, my husband's chicken was overcooked... More

The best thing about this restaurant in the Volcano House Hotel is the view of the Volcano Crater. Try to reserve window view or second tier. Go at dusk to see the smoke and later the red glow.

One of the fascinating aspects of the Park is that it contains both desert and tropical aspects. Before the current eruptions one could drive (or hike around the rim) from tropical rain forest to desert and back to rainforest. For the past few years most of the desert parts of the drive and trail have been closed because of the... More

Make reservations so you can get a window table for sunset! The view of the crater includes the smoke and steam rising, and around sunset, the glow of the lava. Then, once it's dark, go up to Jagger Museum. You may see actual lava spewing into the night! Oh, and the food at The Rim restaurant is excellent, the wine... More

Your view of the Kilauea crater from this restaurant is a the mercy of the weather. If clear, you'll have a ringside seat to the world's most active volcano. If foggy, you'll see no further than the trees outside the window. The wait staff is professional and knowledgeable. But the food is nothing special. Our Caesar salad was bland, a... More
