We attended the Smith Family Luau. The MC is actually the owner of the place, and I felt he was actually concerned about the comfort and quality of the experience of each of the 100's of people in attendance. The food was above average, the garden is beautiful, and the Luau dance performance very well produced with very good professional... More

We took the boat tour up the Wailua River to the fern Grotto. I am not sure if this is part of Smith's tropical paradise or not but I think it is in the same location. Very pleasant boat ride lots to see along the way. The grotto is lovely, cool on a hot day.

They had it down to perfection. The food was great! The show was done well...a little Hollywood. BUT, you learn so much about the history of the Islands. I won't spoil it for you...:))

The Smith Family has been perfecting the family luau for decades. The grounds are located in sprawling botanical tropical garden. The food is plentiful, the mai tais are cold, and the after dinner entertainment is top notch. This is a very popular and large luau that feels intimate at the same time. The aloha of the Smith family keeps people... More

. We took the river boat ride and visit to the fern garden as part of a bus tour. Very pretty and relaxing. We saw more of the garden prior to the luau. Great gardens

Food was very good and entertainment was great. The show was well put together and enjoyable. More of a tribute to the different types of people on the island as opposed to the traditional luau where they talk about the king and all he did. The food was the best i ever had at a luau and the grounds were... More

This is one of the hop on hop off locations. It costs $6 and good to spend 45 minutes until the next bus pick up. If you like birds, buy their foods for 50 cents at the entrance. Many birds including peacocks will follow you. This is not commercialized and you can spend quiet time there.

We have visited Smiths many times and have never been disappointed. From the food to the grounds and the show, it is top notch. A must do while on Kauai.
