This is still one of our favorite places to eat on the island. The fish is fresh everyday. We ate here 9 years ago, because of Trip Advisor rating, and loved it. Ate here yesterday and it is still as good as the first time...we ate here. It is worth the drive from anywhere on the island.More

Kilauea Fish Market is a small take away restaurant with several fresh fish choices plus chicken and some salad/vegetarian options. We were a party of five and two of our diners had the Ono Tacos and said they were some of the best fresh fish...meals they had on Kauai. Another had the Ahi Salad and while the salad was pretty small and basic they enjoyed the Ahi and appreciated being able to choose a smaller piece (cost is by weight!) and they were asked how they wanted the Ahi cooked. I had the Ono as part of the Grilled Fish Plate Catch of the Day but was not asked how I wanted it cooked (things that make you go hmmm) and found it to be overcooked and dry. We were guessing the Ono Tacos may have kept the Ono in the taco dishes moist while my Ono served in a Plate was dried out. The final diner had the Vegetarian Special Plate and enjoyed it. This is a small family run place and they certainly appeared to be overwhelmed so please keep this in mind if you are to visit during the busy dinner hours. With other fresh fish options close by and in walking distance we’d likely opt for one of them next time. Oh and if do go and you order the Ono make sure to let them know how you want it cooked!More

Had read about this market as a great place to stop on our way to Waimea Canyon. We picked up poke bowls and they were fresh and delicious-the first one I've ever had! They had a wide variety of food options and the prices were...reasonable. I also noticed a lot of locals went there which is also a good sign.More

We both had the Ono fish tacos. They were s yummy! The spice on the fish had just a little bit of heat and the sauces were a good finish on the fish. A little heavy on the lettuce.

We bought an cooked Opakapaka. There sauce is the best I ever had...both wasabi mix and whatever the other one is. As our friend says...if they are out of whatever you ant buy the sauce, go across the street to the market an buy a...fish. This place also cooks for you if you ant. No place to sit but there are places outside if you don't ant to take it home. You have to go here for fresh fish about $25/pound plus sauceMore

We got our food take out. It was very good quality and easy and delicious. We were all happy with our food. We stopped on our way from visiting the lighthouse.

Although there is a "dine in" menu, you will find yourself carrying your meal outside to eat. The food is good but pretend you are on a picnic. They offer salads, fish and chicken plates, wraps and tacos plus deli items which you can take...home and prepare. There is also a children's menu with reasonable prices.More

I was considering giving four but I gave five based on the food and not the ambience. There isn’t much to the restaurant as previous reviewers have noted. You go in and order and get your food once ready. If you don’t care about presentation...but about fresh fish then this is the place for you.More

The place doesn’t look like much! You eat outside! But great wraps and sandwiches! I had a fresh marlin wrap that was so good! I like their menu! And the prices are reasonable for what you get! I’ll be back!
