Always a great place to visit. Cute little food truck with friendly staff and shaved ice with no corn syrup! Just natural fruit flavors and yummy toppings. Can’t wait to go back.

I'm more an ice cream person and have no other shaved ice experience from which to compare. This was some tasty ice. It seemed all the flavor was on the outside, whereas the middle was pure ice..so i'd recommend that newbies like me use your...spoon to spread it all out and mix it up....because the slushy end can be tasty if you have enough flavoring left. Parking can be tricky when it's crowded. Wait was modest, maybe 10 mins to receive our order. Good Stuff.More

Short Story- simple, delicious shave ice with nice people, natural flavors, and perfect consistency. Longer Story- Call me Ishmael. Or Kirk. Or Lewis and Clarke. Pick an explorer, searching for adventure and hidden treasure. I'm that person. Like many others, I came to Hawaii searching...for that mythic beast- the perfect shave ice. Like many others, I set a bounty for myself to try a certain number of shave ices per day. Also like many others here, I have been underwhelmed. My family is not on my journey, but they are looking for tasty treats to enjoy on outings, and so first came by Waikomo Shave Ice for the acai bowls. They were so impressed by the bowls that they tried a shave ice. They called me. They said that the 35-minute walk was worth it. Like a puffed spout on the horizon for Ahab, this statement drew me to action, and the hunt was on. Arriving at the market parking lot that houses Waikomo Shave Ice, I was not deterred by the lack of elaborate facilities- true shave ice hunters know that the best shave ices often hide in unexpected places. I was a bit shocked at the simplicity of the operation- there are much fewer flavor options than one customarily finds, and other toppings, like li-hing mui powder, that were also not available. I noticed that all of the flavors are homemade from real fruit. That explained a lot and made me more confident. My family had recommended the blood orange, so a added guava to the blood orange (only two flavors are permitted, which is actually a good idea so that you don't get that massive flavor-chaos of melted syrup in the bottom of the cup). I also had the mac nut ice cream on the bottom. The flavors hit me like a fluke in the face- bright, light, and very true to the fruit. The guava not only tasted like fresh, delicious guava... it had a couple of guava seeds in it!! The blood orange was also fresh, light, and powerful. Topped with a little honey and cream top, it was spectacular. The most impressive aspect of this shave ice was the consistency. Not the grainy, chunky slush packs that some offer as a snow cone, this shave ice was light and flaky. It reminded me of freshly fallen snow in the Wasatch, it reminded me of other hills of snow, like the rise of a white whale on the sea. I've found my target, that elusive Excellent Shave Ice. I'll be coming back for many more.More

Amazing shave ice . Goal is to eat shave ice every day on our trip. First 2 places made me want to get over it - like regular mainland snow cone consistency. This place is perfect! Fluffy ice with natural flavors and not just sugar...syrup! We all loved it!!More

There was a line to get the shave ices and then nowhere to sit to eat them. Still happy that we went. Delicious, many choices. Would try looking for a shave ice stand in a more beautiful setting next time.

Simply the most delicious shave ice I've ever had--with real fruit syrups and delicious coconut cream and a touch of honey on top. I'm not a fan of the artificial colors and flavors a lot of places use--but this one is different and better. The...hours can be limited so plan ahead....and enjoy!More

Sorry no pics cuz it was hot and melting. Soft fluffy shaved ice. U choose two flavors and they give u the choice of adding vanilla macadamia nut ice cream underneath. They top it off with the flavors then honey drizzled and fresh strawberries. Very...yummy!!!More

What really makes this is the light fluffy ice. We tried others on the island, and there's no comparison. The flavor and the light texture of the ice shavings, make this a top choice. If you are a shave ice fan, it is worth driving...out of the way to get. Be sure to get the coconut flavor!More
