Great place to get inexpensive plate lunch ($7.50 and includes mac salad and rice) , saimen, or burgers ($4 for 'deluxe') for take-out. The saimen does not have a lot of toppings- but for $3 for a container, can't complain! Place your order at the small window outside the store and while you are waiting - go inside and have... More

So, you think you want a nice plate lunch? DO NOT go to Sueoka. No pork (?!?!), only different versions of fish and chips, all fried, really not even as good as Gorton's fish sticks. And the fries were almost completely tasteless, and soggy and cold by the time I ate them. Two of us got that dreck. Two of... More

This was recommended as a great place to go to get a good Hawaiian plate lunch. We were sorely disappointed having gotten great plate lunches on other islands. The meat portion of the plate lunches was very limited in choice. I would look elsewhere if you're interested in experiencing a good, typical, original Hawaiian plate lunch. On the positive side,... For 7.5, you get rice, the local salad and two out of following :fried shrimp, fried chicken, tariyaki beef, burger beef. Food is very flavorful and fresh. No place to sit but who cares when Poi'pu beach park is just 10mins drive away with picnic table? Highly recommend!

Visited the Kauai coffee plantation where their coffee was over $15 for a 7 oz bag. Stopped in here the following day and got the same coffee for $6.99. Better prices here than the Whalers market which is closer to the resort. They also have wine, beer and some prepared food.

Great little food shack located in the parking lot of the Sueoka grocery store in Koloa. I ordered a two-item plate lunch of ribs and chicken wings, served with mac salad and rice. The line was long on a Sunday afternoon, but it took only a few minutes for me to receive my order. Both the ribs and wings were... More

We stop here every trip at least 2 times/week. Great plate lunches and we often split one and still feel full! Service is quick but often times, the line can be long so be prepared to wait and take advantage of the wait time by getting to know people in line with you! I've often gotten the best tips on... I was happily surprised that the prices here were relatively competitive with other groceries in the area. They have a fairly good selection of the key items you need. It's not mainland prices, but what is?!

Based on other reviews we stopped here instead.of going to several other places in the immediate area. Agree with the reviewer that said don't waste your time. The food isn't awful but there are SO MANY great places nearby. We ended up enjoying leftovers from Pizzeta more than the immediate food from Sueoka.
