Although a " variety" store, I would consider it more a grocery/convenience store. Since this location is far from a grocery store or Walmart, it fills the need in this upcountry location. Besides groceries, there is feed for animals and things like cards and Hawaiian lotions. Worth stopping in if you are having lunch across the street at Kula Bistro.

Rosie is super nice and helpful with everthing from tips on local sites to the best way to get to the airport. The store has a eclectic collection of everyday necessities, to highend teas, clothing and wine. The lunch counter boasts some of the BEST poke anywhere. With a Courdon Bleu trained chef behind the counter, I would recommend EVERYTHING!... More

So there was blockage on the road to Hana so we turned back to head for Haleakala; the GPS took us through Haiku and saw the post office here and we had a card to post. She posted that and came back and said 'want a coffee?' The store has some. So in we went. What a great little store... More

It's not that Hanazawa's is really average; it's not. It's just not that stocked for what we were looking for. However, we stumbled into it while driving from Kula to the Hana highway, with no idea where we were, and I was able to pick up papayas, vegan potato salad that was house made, and beverages, and there was a... Junk food, soda, beer, gas. Uh,not a restaurant . There are chips and candy for your 420 lifestyle. You maybe lost if you are here.

Hanzawas is definetly a great place to stop and get some lunch and quick bites and some excellent coffee. I would definetly hit the deli and grab my gas there everytime i travel by. One of my favorite little stores with a history. Obviously run by great people who hire excellent staff!

Excellent rated because if you need gas, food or beer in this area... THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE. Where the locals go, so you do not have to drive to town. If you find this place... you may be lost... ask... they will get you right... ENJOY MAUI

Hanzawas was close to where we were staying and often the only thing open at times we needed something but the prices are very high. But the people are very nice.
