Kanemitsu's is a bakery and restaurant and like every other eating establishment on Molokai it's as laid back as you can get. If you have on more than board shorts, a T shirt, and slippahs (flip flops) you are overdressed. The food from breakfast through dinner is island style with Hawaiian, Japanese, American, and Asian influences. It is cheap (for... More

Local treat. We had breakfast and found it to be a wonderful local experience. Love the cold papaya served with breakfast. Makes you feel like you are in Hawaii in the 50s. We took home some Hawaiian bread. Would definitely be a stop on a return visit.

Kanemisu Bakery is a popular eating spot on Molokai. We ate there on a busy Sunday morning after attending church services. The service was slow. The food was good. Like most of Molokai, attention is given to the food and not the ambiance. Fresh bread is available at the back door in the early evening.

We did the evening "alley walk" and thoroughly enjoyed the fresh Molokai Hotbread and taro donuts. He got their about 7:45pm, and the hotbread (we got the blueberry, butter, and cream cheese combo) was ready at about 8:30pm, but the taro donuts were ready when we arrived. Both were amazing - hot, fresh, melt in your mouth goodness. We went... More

We were disapointed with the bread especially as it only come in white. The danishes and other pastries were fine . We did not eat here

Why are they so cheap? Mushroom burger with so little mushrooms? They don't expect a customer to actually enjoy such skimpy burger with no flavoring! Their hamburger is without Pickles , and the bun is so thin it falls apart in your hands and can only be eaten with a fork! Where ever did they learn to cook? How is... More

We had breakfast here right after we arrived. The food was very good and lots of it. The bakery is the best part. We had cinnamon rolls, Hawaiian bread and cookies. We are out of goodies so we must go back.

We found a little bit odd to go down the alley and duck behind the building to order fresh bread. That having been said, hot fresh bread is always delicious especially when it's smeared with yummy sugar glaze this. Better than a hot bread, was the taro glazed doughnut.

We stopped by every other day to replenish our stock of pastries, which they rotate varieties, very nice . They bake a heavy round loaf that makes an excellent sandwich loaf or superior french toast. Their sweet bread is also very nice. Lunch here is also very good, and a good value. Like so many places in Molokai the people... More

A must do! Walk down the alley after 730pm and order your bread. Kids lived the experience as did I.
