It's a quaint coffee shop with good food and great service. Best oxtail soup. Same owner as Asahi Grill on Keeaumoku St. In Honolulu.

This restaurant itself has been around for at least 50 years, but in different places under different ownership , but it still offers the best oxtail soup in town. Large ($14.75) Outstanding. Good portion. Excellent broth with lots of oxtail, cooked just right, meat flaking off the bones. A. Pigs feet soup (Large $ 11.50, ordered small $9.60) Still very... More

My parents were born and raised in Hawaii, so when they return, they like to have an authentic, locals only experience. My 85 year old dad met two of his brothers for lunch here and enjoyed the kimchi fried rice and Portuguese sausage and rice plate. As is everything in Hawaii, portions are ample and come with a lot of... More

One of my favorite greasy spoon places/ Love to always get their friend rice with eggs and a side of Portuguese sausage. There fried rice is unique as it is Portuguese sausage based and very delicious, Just need to use a spoon as rice falls apart. Yum!

Kapiolani Coffee Shop is in the Waimalu Shopping Center along Kamehameha Highway in Aiea. Small place with average food at good prices. Famous for its oxtail soup. We ordered loco moco and oxtail saimin for breakfast. Food came out fast. Loco moco was decent, nothing special. The oxtail saimin cane out with two good sized chunks of oxtail. Broth was... More

Well, we were in the area and stopped by after reading comments on the fabulous oxtail soup. It isn't a fav of ours...so we ordered other food. This was our experience... Restaurant is in an old plaza/strip mall with bad road paving. There is a take out window in addition to the small sit down restaurant...only about 10 tables/booths or... More

Four of us dined at this restaurant. It was about 12:45pm and the place was packed. Nevertheless, it was less than 5 minutes and we were seated. The grilled mahi mahi was fresh and perfectly cooked. Tossed salad is freshly made, as well as macaroni salad and fried rice dishes. The service was exceptional. This is a very good local... More

I rated this place excellent simply because I go there only for the oxtail soup. Love it. Service is fast, the soup is ono - so delicious. And they still leave that bottle of ginger on the table so you can use as much as you want. The small size looked like it got smaller though. But otherwise, love love... More
