We ate here a while back and it was noisy, crowded and $$$ for just a bowl of SAIMIN? Go to Dave's Drive In, Hapa Haole Kitchen (lunch) Fresh Catch, even Likelike Drive in or Panda, and the Japanese and Vietnamese restaurants ALL next to Panda (By Safeway across from windward mall) for MUCH BETTER FOOD!!!!

A Hawaiian Standard! Zippy's has been around forever, morphing from a simple saimin shop to a more expansive diner style experience. I always head for Zippy's when I come back to the islands.

Really good Loco Moco and excellent bakery highlight this local style restaurant. Great for after party food as it is open pretty late.

We had seen several Zippy's on Maui, and my son, 11, had read reviews about their bakery and begged us to go, claiming it's a favorite spot of Obama's. In a review, someone had written that the interior reminded them of a Denny's and we agree. There's an area to sit with waiter service and a fast food area. We... More

This is a good local food chain. You can probably find some places with cheaper food, but probably not the range and variety of foods. Service is usually slower and its probably because they serve such a large range of food. The food is very good.

Don't look for anything special here. It's just a typical coffee shop, similar to any you'd find anywhere in the USA. The food is fine, given those limitations, and it's a nice place for a quick bite.

Zippy's provides many different American and "local" (ethnic cuisine which have been adapted to Hawai'i's multi-cultural residents) dishes, some better than others.

We ate here after discovering that Cousin Mo's was closed. I had a spaghetti with meat sauce and chicken combo. Very inexpensive and mediocre quality. My wife had a burger, which was disappointing. Overall not recommended exempt for the cheap prices.

Typical plate lunches very popular with locals. Used to live in Hawaii so HAD to have Zippy's!! We had Teri Beef, fried chicken, chili frank. Can't seem to find macaroni salad like that on the mainland. Good portions, but a little more expensive than mom and pop plate lunch shops.

It's above average for what it is.... A chain restaurant halfway between a Denny's and an AppleBees. Food at this location was good. We asked locals where to go for a good bowl of Saimin (like a top ramen only way more exciting and delightful!). They said Zippy's without hesitation. Friendly service and patrons as we spoke to a few... More
