Great, off the beaten path restaurant offering a wide variety of food from lobster to quesidia.... Local brewed beer that was quite tasty. The decor is an interesting collection of antiques of the 60's....Very nice. Staff very friendly and efficient!

We make it a point to visit Route 66 at least once during our annual visit to Ellsworth/Bar Harbor. We usually order the veggie burger (homemade) with fries, or one of the pasta dishes, and we haven't been disappointed. Last summer I also ordered a few blueberry mojitos, and they were delicious. The service has always been great here, and... More

We weren't sure about this place since he reviews were up and down but it only had a 20 minute wait on a Saturday night and all the other restaurants had waits around an hour. Lots of great kitschy items on the walls. The place is huge inside and the wait staff is extremely efficient. I think they could staff... More

It was the exterior that attracted us to eat here. You can (and perhaps should) spend hours reading and looking at the decor. Although I was a little worried that this would mask a low standard of food, I was pleasantly surprised. The initial welcome was as about as enjoyable as a wet weekend in Skegness, but our waitress was... More

We sort of stumbled on this place while walking around Bar Harbor looking for a place to have lunch. The interior decor alone is worth a visit to this restaurant. It includes tons of travel / automobile memorabilia and is definitely a bit on the kitschy side. Mobile trains, vintage signs and antiques and more. Lots to see. As another... More

I had my first Maine lobster roll and my dining companion had his first full lobster, complete with bib! Both were very tasty. Eclectic 50's decor was fun.

Five of us were able to walk right in and get a table - but considering the crappy day for weather we should have figured. Food was average fare, priced higher than it should be but this is Bar Harbor. Range of food types was somewhat lacking. Service was above average. Cocktails were pricey and small. Décor was fun to... More

We had a group of 11 people for lunch. They did a good job of taking care of us. I had a burger, fries and root beer float. All were good and I did not hear anyone complain about their meal

While ashore from a cruise, and in an area where the lobsters seem to be standing in the street inviting you in to eat a relative, we stopped in Route 66. The entire place is like a trip back to the 1950's, with toys, memorabilia, photos and keepsakes all over the place. And, if that wasn't enough, the lobster was... More
