We went here twice on a recent visit to Acadia, and both nights were great. We had rolls and chowder and it was about the best we had while in town. The line gets long, so get there by about five.More

One of the best meals I’ve ever had! I arrived before they even opened, and there was already a 30 minute line- so I knew this was the spot. The family in front of me left because they couldn’t wait, and that was their mistake....The food was amazingly fresh and was one of the best lobsters I’ve ever had- you could tell he had been in the ocean just hours earlier. I got the buttered lobster roll (hot roll) and the lobster bake (a lot...you only live once!), and took the blueberry pie home for later. Everything was fresh- mussels, lobster, even the corn was plump and straight from the farm. I didn’t even need a cracker to get the meat out, as it was cooked perfectly. And the pie was a great treat later in the night with some tea before bed. Can’t imagine a better spot on the island.More

Best lobster roll we had the whole time we were on Mt Desert Island! These guys are an experience all their own, with lobster caught that morning and steamed until they run out of them. Make sure you get there early, as by the time...we arrived shortly after 5:00pm they were running out of fresh lobsters, and we had to settle (and I use that term loosely) for their lobster roll. Which was fantastic. We got it with a side of corn and it may have been our best meal of the trip!More

Stop. Listen to me. LISTEN. Go to The Travelin Lobster. We have been going to Bar Harbor for 30 years and this was our first visit there, and it was our favorite dinner. We each ordered a Chowder. We ordered a Lobster Roll. We ordered...two Lobster Dinners. The Chowder is really good. The Mussels were a nice addition. The Corn on the Cob was perfect. The Lobsters were cooked perfectly. The Star of the Show was the Lobster Roll. In our opinion this is our all-time favorite Lobster Roll and you need to try it. WE WILL BE BACK.More

Wow- we stopped on our way back from bass harbor and it was awesome. We ordered three 1.5lb lobster and some clam chowder to go ( all around 40$). While waiting for the food we sat at the bar and chatted with the cook/Capt. The...Capt was so nice and talkative answering all our questions and made you feel like you could sit and talk to him for hours - all after bringing in lobster pots from 430am til early afternoon then cooking til whenever. The lobster were sweet and the chowder was awesome. We did notice some giant lobster rolls being served and will try them next time (tomorrow lol). Thanks Capt and Traveling Lobster a must visit if in Bar Harbor.More

My first experience with the Travelin Lobster was not a happy one. We arrived at 6:15 knowing they closed at 7 and got on line. A staff member came to the end of the line at about 6:18 and told the last 3 customers in...line we wouldn’t be served. I was not a happy camper but my husband is the intrepid type and we tried again the next day but went at 4. The trick is to go around the back and get a number before you join the line. After a 45 minute wait we received our dinner. The rolls were overstuffed and impressive. My husband voted it his favorite lobster roll on our trip, so he felt it was worth the wait.More

We really enjoyed the outside picnic tables eating our fabulous lobsters with mussels and corn on the cob. Definitely would recommend if you want a laid back atmosphere after a long hike in Acadia National Park or anytime. Thought quite reasonable priced. Family run business...which was nice.
