I'm a bit addicted to the pokie cookies here (with M&Ms), but they're all good. Kind of like Mrs. Fields used to be, but a bit crispier around the edges. Very decedent. Plus the staff is always super friendly, funny, and attentive. I'm not really into the penis cookie pops, but for those who like that sort of thing... they... More

This humble cookie palace has whatever you may be craving and more that you want but didn't know you wanted. The lines vary from short and fast to long and gratification-delaying.

BEST COOKIES EVER!! This place honestly makes the best cookies anyone I know has ever tried. Every time I go to San Francisco (from Modesto) I get cookies at the Hot Cookie for everyone in the house. They're just so good. They truly are 100 times better than any other fresh cookie store or fresh cookie from a store or... More

We got cookies for the kids to eat as it was next to the strain station when we visited the Castro. Cookies are hot, there was a long line up )which is part of the hype) and there is no where to sit down inside the shop. Be aware there is a cookie shaped organ and semi-nude photos of people... This storefront sells cookies, some of which are warm. They all seem fresh. The cookies are good and several are creative, but I wouldn't say it is out of this world or anything. There is no seating and only space for a very very short line to wait inside. Honestly, they have good cookies and is a good run through... More

Hot cookie makes some really good cookies and macaroons. But I think it gets its reputation from the very adult sculptured appendage cookies that it sells. Not much is left to the imagination. But it's all a bit of fun😬

Staying in The Castro

Neighbourhood Profile
The Castro
A flourishing commercial area that acts as San Francisco's LGBT community center and cultural heart, the Castro is a neighbourhood welcome to everyone. As one of the first predominantly LGBT neighbourhoods in the United States and currently its largest, it remains one of the epicenters of activism in the nation. Grand theatres and glitzy shops now compete with bars and fashionable eateries for attention, drawing visitors from around the world to the bright rainbow flag acting as its beacon.
