I went for lunch and sat at the bar. The bartender--Jose--was friendly and attentive. The lunch waa fantastic. Lots of flavors. Their bread is delicious. I would highly recommend this Michelin Star restaurant.

South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated
vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs

I would recommend for gentlemen what some call business professional (coat at minimum) and “Sunday best” for the ladies. Cocktail is not necessary but would not stand out either. No jeans, T-shirt or “Vegas” wear.

While Luce offers breakfast, brunch, and lunch, it is the dinner experience that illustrates the true talent of the Michelin-starred culinary team. The approachable menu reflects the surrounding farms of San Francisco and changes according to freshness and seasonality. Pastas, breads and all desserts are made in-house allowing for a truly distinctive dining experience. In addition to the à la carte dinner menu, Luce offers a tasting menu showcasing the best of the season, allowing guests to explore the full range of cuisine at the restaurant. Luce has been awarded one Michelin star 9 years consecutively, and the Wine Spectator's "Best of Award of Excellence".
