Our first time trying Burmese cuisine. We had the BK signature tea leaf salad for appetizer. Two things stand out in this dish, crunchy and too much peanuts. The fermented tea leaf is lack of the special tea flavor. We also had the spicy fish, even though it is too bland for my taste, the fish is pretty moist and... More

We got in here when the other highly recommended Burmese places on Clement were booked solid. We weren't disappointed. We had the Masala Chicken, Tea Leaf Salad and String Beans. It tasted just like home cooking and left us feeling satisfied and glad that the other Burmese restaurants had turned us away! Would definitely return.

We didn´t knoy anything about Burmese food and entered reluctantly seeing the poor entrance of the restaurant and we were amazed by the result. The food is really really tasty with pleny of choice and a big variety of dishes and the service was great: the waitress explained us all the dishes we had and was really helpful. Burmese food... I am Indonesian, and the tastes in this restaurant remind me of it, yet slightly different and so very tasty. I highly recommend the ROTI. And I always get the garlic noodles. Everytime we go to San Francisco, we have to eat here.

Do not get misled by the exterior appearance. This place is gem, and I am already making plans to come back. Simple, honest Burmese food, with an explosion of flavors that reflects care and the use of high-quality ingredients. We tried multiple dishes and ALL were excellent. The tea-leaf salad and the samosa soup were particularly good. And then, all... More

I am a newcomer to Burmese food but I have to say it was delicious with wonderful combinations of food. Burmese Kitchen is a low key restaurant on Geary. Service is swift. Salads are very different - one featured tea leaves, roasted peanuts. All very tasty. Good choice of main courses - fish, meat and veggie. Really worth a visit.

First, this place was hard to find because the building's façade is being refurbished and the restaurant's entrance is obscured by tarps. Even so, it was packed. Very basic (I can't even use the word décor,) not many tables, noisy, and I wish we had had time to come back several more times. The food is unusual, at least to... More

I've been here many times as this Tenderloin restaurant is convenient to the public transit and hotels/hostels I use. No ambiance (unless bars on the windows counts), no off-street parking, no bright and cheery interior. But what it does have is good, solid Burmese food cooked and served by a very warm family. Their pumpkin stew is a standout, as... More

Wonderful food. This is our fourth time eating Burmese and we normally start with tea salad. Here that is only serve at lunch, but had a wonderful, crunchy fermented tea salad and other vegetarian dishes. Names are similar to Indian and Persian food, but flavors are somewhat closer to Thai. Local family works hard to make a friendly cosy atmosphere... More

It was my first Burmese experience, and I really enjoyed it. A lot of other people did, too…there was a line out the door. The menu was large, with everything categorized Thai-style. We asked for the house signature dishes and got an outstanding appetizer….a "salad" that was tossed table-side with 22 ingredients. It included peanuts, coriander, cilantro, peppers, cold noodles,...
