It's good pizza with multiple kinds even it Italian meat sandwiches. There is some seating outside for the to go crowd. We will be back. The wife loved the 4 cheese and I choose the Sicilian deep dish. Both were very good & the crust was even good.

This pizzeria restaurant does not take bookings. It is first come, first served, but the wait is worth it! The food is magnificent, large in size and moderately priced. Highly recommend visiting when in San Francisco, but go early.

Someone left a recommendation for Tony's at the apartment we rented which was only a couple blocks away, and we were tired and starving after 12+ hours traveling. Quick and friendly service, and AMAZING pizza. We had the Picante, which was truly picante (spicy), and the crust alone was an experience. Don't miss it!

There might be a bit of a wait to get a table, but it's worth it if you're looking for some delicious Italian pies. If it's late in the year when you visit, I would definitely suggest dropping some extra $$$ for the shaved white truffles when they're in season (one of the best dishes my family has ever had).... We were seated outside immediately, otherwise we faced an hour-long wait. The pizza and calzones were excellent, as was the pasta. I had a number of gluten free choices and opted for a pasta dish, which was wonderful. The only reason for the very good rating is that our dishes came out one-by-one, and they forgot one of them so... More

This was the best Italian pizza I've ever had outside of Italy. It was nice for each of us to order a different pizza and swap a slice to fully appreciate the difference between the crusts. Pizza Margherita and their pizza Cal Italia are to dye for. One a winner from competition in Naples, Italy, the other a Food Network... More

Don't get me wrong, the pizza was good but over $50 for two small pizzas for 3 people!! Once we all got drinks the bill was over $100. It was good but not orgasmic, I think a lot of the place's popularity is hyped up but don't let me stop you from going!

Tony's is a popular pizza joint that does not take reservations. Our wait was 40 minutes on a Friday night -- which seems like an average for this place. The interior is cozy, and it has a full bar and decent wine list. But it's crowded and busy. Good selection of pizzas, and a few other Italian pasta dishes. Limited... More

First time eating at Tony's Pizza Napoletana! Many pizza choices on the menu and pasta. I ordered the Little Italy salad with Margherita pizza. The food was delicious! I would recommend eating here if you want good pizza!

Tony's pizza has a nice crust and good flavor! They don't serve the Sicilian all the time but it's very similar to a focaccia pizza. The crispy edges will make you go ahhhh when it comes out of the oven. There's a main restaurant also but we prefer to grab a few slices and sit outside and people watch.

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighbourhood home.
