Fantastic gluten free crust on my pizza! Food was great! Getting a table is not however, and you need to wait outside. We ended up getting an outside table with some heat lamps but we were still a bit cold. Perhaps you can order a pizza for pickup and take it home? I think they also own the Slice House... More

We tried this restaurant as we had read reviews, however, we were extremely disappointed. We were told the pizza we wanted was not available as the oven shuts down at 3:00pm (it was just slightly past). When our server took our order we ordered 1 pizza and he attempted to talk us into ordering more stating one pizza feeds one... More

If you love pizza, make your own pizza, study pizza, and/or collect pizza restaurants in your bucket list of deliciousness, you really must go here! Tony has created a pizza museum of sorts with quality standards that are out of this world. He appeared on the SF scene about four years ago, setting up shop in North Beach with multiple... More

I was looking for a place this sunny SF Sunday for some good food and vino at the bar to watch the Masters.i found a seat at bar and met JP who was as good a host/bartender/server I have met. What a brand ambassador. I had the Coccoli and the nearly one pound meatball. Both were amazing!!!! Along with some... More

We had tried to eat at Tony's Pizza at night, but found the wait to be 2 hours. Based on the great reviews friends had given us, we made an effort to eat a later lunch the next day. We were not disappointed. The meatballs were superb, as were the pizzas. The girls ordered half cheese/mushroom and my wife and... More

We got there just before they opened for lunch on a weekday and didn't have to wait for a table. Terrific pizza, both with and without gluten. But man, so amazing to try a gluten-free pizza that tastes that good and has such a lovely crust.

Not the cheapest just the best pizza in SF (maybe best we've eaten anywhere). Wide choice and great base / toppings and portions are impressive! Service is relaxed but professional. Always busy and don't do reservations so you may have to wait a while but well worth it (pop in a half hour before you want to eat and put... More

Had a lovely lunch here sitting outside on a sunny SF day. Hard to get a table because of the popularity (deserved) but their system is quite good and we actually got our table much faster than promised. Salads were standouts but let's face it the pizza is what you are here for. The menu breaks the pizzas into different... More

Heard a lot of this Pizza Restaurant, stood in the long line and got a table. We ordered the Margherita and New Yorker Pizza and it was served within 10 minutes. It was ok.

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighbourhood home.
