My wife and I had a lovely meal at Seven Hills during a recent trip to SF. It's a small restaurant, so fairly intimate and nice for couples. The service was excellent. I had the beef carpaccio and parpardelle -- both incredible!! The portions are not huge, but just the right amount. My wife had the kale tagliolini, which she... More

the best meat ball ever. It is a small restaurant but the advantage for us is that you really get personal service. Alex is wonderful. He is very attentive and knows your like and dislike. The pasta is handmade and cooked al dente. they also have really well quality vegetables, meat, and cheese. You feel like you are invited to... More

Seriously, one of the best courses I've had for some time. Delicious. It was so good so the main sort of fades in my memory, but the pasta was perfectly alright, but not up there where the polpette dwells. Couldn't book, but were very well taken care of, the maitre d' recommended a very nice wine bar just across the... More

It's strangely difficult to find restaurants with homemade pasta with genuinely great sauces. This is the place if you want authentic style pasta with attentive, professional service. Small restaurant so be sure to make reservations some time in advance.

We ate here on a trip to San Francisco the week after Christmas. It's a small restaurant on Hyde St (no hard alcohol served). We ate here because we love Italian food and it received excellent reviews. Well-deserved. It was the best meal we ate that week and not the most expensive. I had a delicious beet salad with horseradish.... More

We visited the SF area for the first time. We read up on many restaurants in the area and looked forward to it for the entire. The establishment did not disappoint us! The whole "package" was amazing!! From the ambiance of the small intimate surroundings, knowledge of the waiter, extensive wine list and the food was nothing short of incredible!... More

This cozy little place gets everything right. Every single dish we ate was delicious, beautifully presented and perfectly composed. We started with a beef carpaccio which was fresh and delicate and had the surprise treat of grilled endive on it. The perfect light appetizer but not the MOST perfect light app because that would be the campeche with citrus. I... More

A group of us came to have the Family Style Menu. The meal was very enjoyable. The service was friendly and informative about each dish. The choice of dishes and the amount of food was a dining treat. The courses were not rushed and we we given time to enjoy each one with the paired wines. The atmosphere is very... More

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
