Love the homey, cozy feel of this restaurant and the enormous menu! There is something for everyone. I'm a vegetarian and there were plenty of choices.

The Grove is our place to have a quick dinner or brunch before performances at the Opera, Symphony of SFJazz. It is walking distance and easy to access. The quality is good. Prices are reasonable and they serve breakfast all-day You pick your place and your pace. Service is very friendly and everybody is nice. On week-ends , it might be... More

Our hotel was a short walk to here. We ate dinner here around six and it was quite busy. Difficult to find a seat after ordering but we did. They have a good selection of beer on tap which was nice. Food was brought to our table after a short wait. Food was tasty and not expensive. Nice place for... More

Arrived in San Francisco after a hellish internal flight (airline's computer systems had gone down and we queued for nearly 4 hours just to reach the check in desk). We were tired, hungry and needed to find somewhere local and quick. The Grove was just down the street from where we stayed and having done a previous recce online we... More

This is a regular weekend spot for my wife and I. Delicious fresh ingredients on a very California menu. The fresh advocate and hash browns are the way to go.

Great selection of fresh and unique breakfast foods served by an etraordinarily friendly staff. They managed to make a western omelet taste unique and fresh! Some of the best Hollandaise sauce I have ever eaten

A cozy pub with a nice interior and friendly service. Nice 60's music. It's not cheap, but the cappuccino is very good and the meals (for other guests) looked good with nice portions.

Had a piece of pecan pie and carrot cake with coffee after a Jazz Center show. Order at the counter and have a seat. Loved the cozy, casual seating areas; some tucked away so you can have a private conversation with your date. Plan to come back for the amazing breakfast.

This casual restaurant is a place to linger and chat over good food and drinks. The Cranberry Black Tea Sangria was very refreshing and our small group enjoyed the fresh salads.

Staying in Hayes Valley

Neighbourhood Profile
Hayes Valley
Chock full of designer boutiques, art galleries, funky shoe stores, and great restaurants, it’s hard to imagine Hayes Valley once languished in the shadow of a major freeway. Its removal allowed for the creation of an attractive boulevard on Octavia Street with a community park at its center and dozens of trendy businesses to satisfy visitors looking for a stylish respite.
