Park Tavern has great service, good lighting and a unique menu. Really enjoyed it. Try the beet salad and fish dishes. Everything we had was perfectly prepared and delicious. Service is professional and well paced.

Dinner at the Park Tavern is a real treat. We shared a Bar Steak, an Angus beef coulette, and Brussels Sprout Chips, but the pre dinner deviled eggs was outstanding. The place is huge and the food prep area is open to view in a rear section. The room itself is divided into one large area with several alcoves on... More

My wife and I randomly stumbled on Park Tavern, and we're very glad that we did. We were browsing on OpenTable for a place to get brunch and just found it. We made a reservation, and I'm certainly glad we did because the wait was probably about 30 minutes. We went on a Sunday morning, and it was certainly a... More

We so enjoyed the good food. There were 6 of us; we all ordered the specials to include creative cocktails and a variety of the many menu selections. This is a lively restaurant; with a busy bar as well as trendy meal. We shall return!

Good food but nothing that stood out. Good atmosphere although a little noisy. Great Bar with good cocktails.

I was hear for a business dinner upstairs and loved the atmosphere and service. The food was great - we had a number of shared plates with a lovely combination of flavours. It had a real lovely feel to it. Like I would go here as a bit of a nicer local if I lived in the area.

We enjoyed our meal and found the restaurant to be comfortable and calm with a minimal, yet appealing menu. We started with the Brussels sprout chips, lightly sauteed and well seasoned, along with the heirloom tomato salad which was nicely portioned and enough for two and the Green Goddess salad - tossed a bit heavy with radish and avocado. My... More

With an exciting mix of vintage fixtures, comfortable furnishings, and handsome textures, Park Tavern is an elegant spin on a North Beach neighborhood classic. Owner Anna Weinberg and designer Kendra Nicholas of Park Interiors collaborated to divide the room into unique, dedicated spaces -- the handsome marble bar, the terra cotta floored cafe with windows that open onto the patio facing Washington Park, the comfortable dining room with tufted leather banquettes, and an open kitchen with a chef’s counter. Park Tavern will showcase Chef Partner Jennifer Puccio's talents with delicious American bistro classics and emphasize seafood from a wood burning oven. From raw to fried, expect boldly flavored dishes that you'll want to eat several times a week. Serving up classic cocktails with the candor and character of an old friend, you won't find any overly fancy mixology here. But when it comes to wines, you find something for everyone!

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighbourhood home.
