This was our second visit to the Indian Oven , the last one in 2013 ,four years back. It is a neat restaurant with very wide options in Indian cuisine, both for Vegetarians and Non Vegetarians. We went for lunch and opted for a vegetarian menu...More

Recently wanted some Indian takeout and the reviews on this place looked pretty good. The food was excellent....from the apps to the mains everything was done well. I always wish for a little more heat (spice) but generally good here. The Naan was also excellent....More

We had a group of eight for dinner. Orders were taken quickly and efficiently. Appetizers were great. Loved the calamari pakora. Everyone enjoyed their entrées. Rice was served family style and we were given the individual choice of nan. Great food, good service and nice...More

I am a huge fan of Indian cuisine, was looking for an Indian restaurant near the lower Haight and based on a friend’s recommendation I decided to give the Indian Oven a try and was not disappointed. I dined there with two friends and we...More

They must have changed the chef because this place is terrible now. I have eaten here for 15 years and this visit was so bad I'll never go back. I talking 80% of the dishes were bad. What a disappointment because I loved this place.

The chicken tikka masala, eaten with garlic naan, could be the best bite of food I have EVER eaten. As a big fan of Indian food, the difference between this food and other, typical Indian fare, is palpable. Whenever I go to San Francisco, I...More

Indian Oven was nice, but nothing special. We had a starter, a main, rice and naan to share and it came to $32 which is very reasonable. Waiting staff were okay, but not overly enthusiastic. Food was nice enough though not full of taste!

Loved this restaurant, good food, not too spicy, great nans (the one with dried fruit was original and good). The place is beautiful, with large bright windows.

It seems to be a theme in the USA in Indian restaurants, that you can have any dish at any strength of heat of you want. This means that the dishes mostly look and taste the same. This place was just that, the food was...More

The area surrounding the intersection of Haight and
Ashbury streets, “The Haight” still exudes vibes of
the 1960s counterculture as a haven for vintage
clothes, music, pop posters and body piercing shops.
While the Summer of Love ended decades ago,
Haight-Ashbury has turned into a melting pot of
hippies, hipsters, and professionals. Walking through
its streets can still feel like stepping back in time.
