So, when we went someone put in a HUGE order and it took us a long time to get our food. But when the line started moving again, they were fast to make the food. They didn't play around either. They were a little pushy to get it moving... so there was a little rudeness. But I'd rather them be... More

When I was a kid, we didn't buy processed meat. My Mom would use the leftover steak, pork, and chicken to make sandwiches, so I don't really enjoy a sandwich with processed meat. We also ground our own wheat to make bread, so I was spoiled with rich, good flavors. The Steak Et Fromage sandwich on focaccia bread is SO... More

Excellent and diverse hot bar and salad bar from approximately 11am-3pm. Lots of salad and hot items to choose from. Each day they have at least two dishes that they rotate throughout the week. All of the hot pastas are very good. Tip: They do a special starting every day at 2pm where you can get a full box of... More

My colleagues took me to this French place today. The place is located at Pine street and has an outdoor dining option too. There was a 6$ half a pound salad bar and sandwich options. On the recommendation, I tried the Spicy chicken on Focaccia Bread. There was an option of green onion focaccia which looked quite popular. Trust me... More

They have fresh seabass, fried but not overly fried, and lots, and lots of many other choices (salad and entree dishes) offered by the buffet. Great flavors too!! Go at 2 PM for great discounts. I was so stuffed and what I got last me three meals.

Well there is two reasons that I give this restaurant a "4" --- 1) the salad bar has the typical salad and fixings (less than many places) but also hot dishes. I have tried this restaurant about 6 times and every time they have served both fish and chicken --- the chicken was ok, but they do a great job... More

I used to go to Lee's Deli, Greenbar and Wildflower Cafe for lunch, but after being introduced to Chez Fayala's array of flavourful food, I refuse to settle for less . If you are ever in the San Francisco Financial District, make it a point to stop by Chez and try their fish, garlic potatoes, couscous (some of my favourite... More

Food is good, a lot to choose from, but a little on the salty side. Music is always good. Tip: don't forget to ask for your loyalty card - after 10 lunches you get one free.

Staying in Financial District

Neighbourhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
