If you want a traditional Italian meal, look no further! It is best to book but you may get lucky early-mid week. Try the lasagna, OMG!

Consistently wonderful! Massimo runs a wonderful place. Wouldn't be a trip to San Francisco without coming here.

The noise was deafening to begin with but we were happy with the food. The shrimp and calamari appetizer was delicious but the veggie plate was nothing special and they forgot the bruschetta we ordered. The pastas were al dente and sauces were fresh and simple. After dinner the noise level sky rocketed. We asked the owner nicely if it... More

What a fantastic dinner to start our week-long vacation in SF. This restaurant was recommended by the concierge at the Ritz Carlton Club and Residences where we are staying. Everything about this place is first rate. To start with we received a proper greeting and our table was ready for us. It appears to be a popular place (not too... More

My sister introduced me to this restaurant last night and it was a winner! Packed at 9 pm on a Monday night, there are clearly a lot of satisfied diners who come back again and again. I had the lamb chops (Agnello) medium rare with spinach and broccoli. Beautiful flavor on the lamb. Garlic, but not too much - it... More

Had dinner here with a group of 7. We allowed the restaurant to order for us and the food was solid but not spectacular. Service was friendly and very good!

Really enjoyed a visit here with our niece, who comes often. The small space is sharp, sort of a modern style. But the food is the reason to go. Special pasta was a Pappardelle with stewed lamb. Very good. Lasagna was also great -- a little different from traditional red sauce, with a little cream sauce mixed in. Strong wine... More

We enjoyed a great dinner here. Fast and friendly service. The pizza was good, if you like a thin base and a more authentic Italian style of pizza. Price was good for what you get.

I ate here about a year ago by accident, and the food was awesome. It's hard to live up to a memory but when I found myself back in SF and hungry I searched it out again. I am happy that I did. Don't be put off by the small number of tables or the apparently cramped quarters. Take a... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
