While we were looking at the menu, we ordered the dates, which were amazing. And the rest of the meal from the starters to the desserts was great. Nice, reasonably priced wines by the glass list. Service was very professional, but friendly. The tables are...More

Loved everything about this place: white tablecloth without being fussy, convivial but CIVILIZED noise level, warm and attentive service, cozy ambiance, great cocktails and, last but not least, terrific food. The proprietor was on hand overseeing things, which added a personal and welcoming touch. Dining...More

The place was recommended by a friend . It has a very nice dining room and cozy setting . However, our waiter offered us FOIE GRAS which was special . When foie gras arrived it was only 2 tiny slices on the plate for $25 .00...More

Went tonight and loved the food and atmosphere. From the date appetizers to the main course of sea bass and pork cheeks the food was delicious. Waiter was slow getting our dinner order, and forgot to bring coffee with dessert. He topped it off by...More

Being a San Francisco native, I've been here for dinner more times than I can actually remember over the years. It's certainly a local favorite--the food's alway fresh and delicious, the service old San Francisco professional, and the environment is cozy and you don't have...More

Piperade has delicious Basque cuisine and an excellent selection of Spanish wines. We dined with a group of 7 and shared all of the dishes which was fun and interesting. It is quiet enough to enjoy conversation yet has a lively atmosphere. Our favorite dishes...More

I invited 5 friends to join me for dinner at Piperade on a Saturday night to celebrate my birthday. When deciding on a restaurant, I reviewed the Chronicle's 100 Best Restaurants in the Bay Area and chose this one because reviews suggested that the noise...More

We had dinner here recently. It's quiet enough so that one can have a conversation without raising one's voice. They still have white tablecloths. The staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The food was good, probably not in the "wow" category, but good. Dogs...More

We had an unfortunate experience with the olive oil cruet which could have turned the dinner into a disaster but the waitstaff was amazing. Not only comping our drinks but sending over complimentary desserts. While the food was good it was the service that made...More

Chef uses fresh ingredients and prepares the dishes perfectly. Ordered Piperade and calamari for appetizers which were delicious and good portion. Must try the roast pork cheek, if it is on the menu in your visit, since it literally melts in your mouth.

North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds
of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian
ristorante come together to create the charming
neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping
grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of
North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always
suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in
the city exude as much European charm and style.
